India's electric two-wheeler market registered 97,399 units in December 2025, marking a seasonal dip due to year-end purchase deferrals, as per Vahan Dashboard data excluding Telangana. TVS Motor Company solidified its leadership with a commanding 25.71% share, while legacy players like Bajaj and Ather faced declines, and Ola Electric bucked the trend with growth.
The month's total reflects a 19% month-on-month drop from festive highs, yet annual sales crossed 1.28 million units, up 11% year-over-year. Top brands controlled over 90% of volumes, underscoring consolidation among established players with robust networks. Insights from Vahan data highlight how pricing, distribution, and model refreshes influenced outcomes in a cautious market.
December 2025 E-2Ws Sales Report
India’s electric two-wheeler market closes with a stable remark. TVS is the same as usual, leading the market as the largest electric two-wheeler player in India. However, every brand has shown a dip in sales when compared to the previous month of November 2025. Only Ola Electric has shown growth of 6.9% M-o-M in 2025, with 9,021 units sold in December 2025 compared to 8,436 units in November 2025.
1. TVS Motor Company
TVS Motor Company led decisively with 24,317 units sold, capturing 25.71% market share despite a 19.8% month-on-month decline from November's 30,309 units. The iQube lineup drove this performance, benefiting from TVS's extensive dealer network and reliable after-sales support, which appealed to family buyers wary of year-end registrations.
TVS enters 2026 with momentum, having topped monthly charts for eight months in 2025 and clinching annual leadership at 298,867 units.
2. Bajaj Auto
Bajaj Auto secured second place with 18,197 units, holding a 19.3% share but suffering a steep 28.7% drop from 25,527 units in November 2025. The Chetak series powered volumes, though inventory adjustments and competition from Ather eroded gains amid premium segment caution. Annually, Bajaj achieved 269,836 units, a 39% growth, crossing 2.5 lakh for the first time through expanded experience centers.
3. Ather Energy
Ather Energy posted 16,391 units, claiming a 17.51% share with a 16.1% decline from 20,324 units prior. Resilience stemmed from the 450X Gen 3 and Rizta models, favored by tech-savvy urban riders for OTA updates and smart features, narrowing the gap to Bajaj. The brand hit a record 200,785 units in 2025, up 59%, with Rizta driving 70% of sales via community loyalty.
4. Hero MotoCorp VIDA
Hero's Vida brand ranked fourth at 10,340 units, securing a 10.99% share with a mild 15.3% dip from 12,199 units. The Vida V2 Plus gained traction in semi-urban and rural areas, leveraging Hero's vast network for accessibility. Annual sales soared to 109,167 units, a 150% jump, positioning Vida as a stable mid-tier contender.
5. Ola Electric
Ola Electric defied the slump, growing 7.4% to 9,021 units and a 9.26% share from November's 8,400. Aggressive pricing on S1 X variants and Hypercharger expansion converted hesitant buyers, marking the sole top-branded growth. Despite slipping to fourth annually at 199,316 units (-51% YoY), this uptick signals recovery potential via financing incentives.
6. Greaves Electric Mobility (Ampere)
Greaves, via Ampere, sold 4,335 units for a 4.88% share, down 24.8% from 5,763 units. Budget models struggled against legacy giants' distribution muscle in the mass segment. Yearly growth hit 56,639 units (+57%), but December underscores challenges in reclaiming share.
7. BGauss Auto
BGauss registered 1,748 units, grabbing a 2.25% share as a smaller player in the long tail. Focused on mass-market affordability, it maintained presence amid top-tier dominance. Emerging brands like BGauss highlight ecosystem diversity, though volumes remain modest.
8. River Mobility
River Mobility achieved 1,796 units (1.84% share), targeting premium urban commuters with innovative designs. Steady performance reflects niche appeal despite the overall slump. As an upstart, River contributes to the 8.26% "Others" category push.
9. E-Sprinto
The only electric two-wheeler manufacturer that saw a hike in sales in December 2025. With 97% M-o-M growth, E-sprinto sold around 1,324 units, which is more than the 672 units sold in November 2025. These volumes reflect a steady demand in the upcoming months, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
