Hero Splendor

The Hero Splendor remained Hero's top-selling model, with 3,32,227 units sold in March 2026. This represented a 3.01% year-on-year growth and accounted for over 60% of Hero's total domestic sales. HF Deluxe followed as the second highest-selling model, but its sales declined by 7.33% to 85,088 units, suggesting pressure in the entry-level commuter segment.

Hero Glamour posted a significant increase, with sales rising 135.62% year-on-year to 25,522 units. Passion also performed well, growing 42.86% to 24,712 units. These results highlight Hero's continued strength in the commuter-plus category.

Among scooters, the Destini 125 saw strong growth of 53.96%, with 24,177 units sold. In contrast, Pleasure sales dropped 9.09% to 9,146 units, and the Xoom 125 declined 10.40% to 5,531 units. Xtreme 125R recorded a 13.56% decrease to 20,200 units, indicating a normalization after its initial launch demand.

Vida electric scooters showed robust growth, with sales up 119.73% year-on-year to 17,110 units. This points to rising adoption of electric vehicles in Hero's portfolio.

Segment Trends and New Entrants

The Xpulse adventure motorcycle nearly tripled its sales, reaching 3,845 units, up 194.86% year-on-year. This reflects growing interest in adventure bikes in India. Xtreme 160R sales fell 25.72% to 1,739 units. The new Xoom 160 scooter recorded 842 units, while the Xtreme 250R entered the market with 115 units. Karizma 210 registered only 5 units, and Mavrick 440 reported no sales in March 2026.

Month-on-Month Comparison

On a month-on-month basis, Hero MotoCorp's sales rose 6.87% from 5,14,879 units in February 2026. Splendor led the increase, adding over 10,000 units. HF Deluxe grew 18.64% month-on-month. Glamour, Passion, and Xtreme 125R also saw healthy gains. Vida EV sales increased by 19.48% compared to the previous month. Scooters such as Pleasure and Xoom 125 posted notable gains, while Destini 125 declined 11.66% month-on-month. Xtreme 160R, Xtreme 250R, and Karizma 210 saw reduced or minimal sales.

Outlook and Portfolio Diversification

Hero MotoCorp remains reliant on its commuter motorcycles, especially Splendor. However, growth in mid-segment bikes, scooters, and electric vehicles is becoming more significant. The company is expanding its presence in electric vehicles with the Vida brand and in premium motorcycles such as Xpulse and the Xtreme range. Sustained growth in these segments will be important as Hero seeks to reduce its dependence on entry-level commuter models.
