Key Highlights:
Honda, introduces its latest additions to the motorcycle market, the 2024 NX400 and CBR400R, bringing a blend of innovation and performance to the table. Launched initially in Japan, these bikes offer a fresh take on the renowned NX and CBR series, sharing a platform while integrating modern technology and design updates.
At the core of this release lies Honda's commitment to providing riders with enhanced experiences through advanced features and refined performance, as evidenced by the shared specifications and unique characteristics of the NX400 and CBR400R.
The 2024 NX400 and CBR400R come equipped with cutting-edge enhancements, including:
The NX400 presents itself as a modern street adventure bike, boasting refreshed aesthetics and updated equipment compared to its predecessor, the 400X crossover model. Meanwhile, the CBR400R receives 2024 model year updates, including alterations to the headlamp cowl, headlight, and tail light, enhancing its sporty profile with new ducts featuring winglets and slits on the middle cowls.
Both bikes are powered by a 399cc, water-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve parallel 2-cylinder engine, delivering 46 PS of maximum power and 38 Nm of peak torque. The engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox, ensures optimal performance and fuel efficiency, rated at 28.1 km/L according to WMTC standards.
While sharing the same platform, there are distinctions in dimensions and weight between the two models:

CBR400R: Compact dimensions (2080×760×1145mm) with a wheelbase of 1410 mm and a ground clearance of 130 mm.
Braking setups consist of double discs at the front and a single disc at the rear for both models, providing reliable stopping power. Additionally, features such as the Showa SFF-BP inverted fork and assist and slipper clutch further enhance the riding experience, maintaining a balance between performance and control.
With the sub-middleweight motorcycle segment gaining traction in India, driven by the popularity of models like the Harley Davidson X440, Honda eyes the potential introduction of the NX400 and CBR400R in the Indian market, though it has remained quiet on the launch time, we can expect it to be in Indian market by the end of 2024. Reports suggest a favourable market environment, with strong growth anticipated in this segment.
In Japan, the CBR400R starts at 863,500 yen (approximately Rs 4.77 lakh), while the NX400 is priced slightly higher at 891,000 yen (approximately Rs 4.93 lakh). So can assume the bikes to enter the Indian market between the price range of Rs 4.9 lakh and Rs 5.1 lakh. Should Honda decide to venture into the Indian market, these models could potentially offer consumers an enticing blend of performance, technology, and style.
As Honda continues to expand its global footprint, the launch of the 2024 NX400 and CBR400R marks another significant step towards delivering unparalleled riding experiences to enthusiasts worldwide. Stay tuned for further updates on their potential availability in India.
