Honda revealed the upcoming 2022 Civic Type-R

Honda revealed the new upcoming 2022 Honda Civic a couple of months ago and if there is one thing that we wanted to see more than that, it would be its Type-R version. Honda has now officially teased the 2022 Honda Civic Type-R in flesh and it looks all set to be tested at the Nurburgring.
The one thing that last-gen Honda Civic Type-R didn't receive a large fandom for was its design. While some found the design incredibly sporty and aggressive, the remaining found the design over-done and not such a handsome looking machine.

The new car has a much cleaner look and does resemble a saloon rather than a hatch. Its wide stance does resonate a sense of aggressiveness and the huge wing at the back holds its place, along with the centre-mounted triple exhausts. The 2022 Civic Type-R does appear to have larger Brembo brakes with red callipers and it features fewer fake air vents and protruding big plastic pieces than its predecessor. The front bumper vents are bigger, the rear bumpers have racecar-like diffuser blades, and the grille, headlights and tail lamps have all been tweaked.
Engine specifications haven't been disclosed yet by Honda. The current Honda Civic Type-R has a 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 320PS and is strictly available in manual transmission only. All this power is sent to the front wheels, which help this car launch from a standstill to 100 kmph in 5.8 seconds.
There are rumours that a hybrid system could be attached to the new car but nothing is certain as yet.
