Hyundai Creta Electric is the first indigenous car of Hyundai India. As Creta is one of the most successful model by Hyundai in India selling 1.1 million units. In 2024 few times it has become the most selling car in the month in India. Creta Electric Launched at starting introductory price of ₹17.99 lakh.
Exterior
The Hyundai Creta Electric has a striking, contemporary appearance that blends fashion and utility. Its electric character is reflected by a unique front grille with an integrated charging connection, and the back bumper has futuristic pixelated graphics. The R17 Aero Alloy Wheels combined with Low Rolling Resistance (LRR) tires improve its aerodynamic performance, making it both aesthetically pleasing and efficient.
Interior and Features
Stepping inside, the Creta Electric embraces eco-conscious luxury. Ocean Blue ambient lighting harmonizes with the dual-tone Granite Grey and Dark Navy interior color scheme, creating a sophisticated atmosphere. It offers twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and driver information, complemented by an 8-speaker Bose sound system.
Convenience features like dual-zone climate control and ventilated front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat enhance comfort. Sustainable materials, including recycled plastic bottles and synthetic leather derived from maize extract, highlight the brand’s commitment to green innovation.
Packed with advanced technology, the Creta Electric includes a host of premium features. The dual curvilinear screen 10.25-inch screens, an 8-speaker
Bose audio setup, and ambient lighting cater to infotainment and ambiance needs. A three-spoke steering wheel with Morse code detailing adds a unique design touch. Additional tech highlights include a 360-degree camera, Level-2+ Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 19 features. It also features adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation assist, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
Battery and Performance
Performance-wise, the Creta Electric offers two battery pack options. The 42 kWh battery delivers a range of 390 km, while the 51.4 kWh pack extends the range to 473 km. A powerful electric motor generates up to 171 PS, propelling the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.
The motor produces 168 bhp of power and 255 Nm of torque.
Charging is efficient, with DC fast charging capable of boosting the battery from 10% to 80% in only 58 minutes, while an 11 kW home charger completes the same charge in around four hours. The battery is IP67 protected and can be drawn in water up to 420 mm and can handle cold weather up to -25 degree Celsius.
Safety Features
Safety remains paramount with six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic parking brakes with auto hold, Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM). A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) further enhances driving confidence.
Dimension
In terms of practicality, the Creta Electric offers a generous 433-litre boot space, supplemented by a 22-litre frunk for smaller items. Its wheelbase remains unchanged at 2610 mm, maintaining the dimensions of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart.
Rivals
When it comes to competition, the Hyundai Creta Electric faces formidable rivals in the electric SUV market, including the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, and the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara.
