Exterior and Design Changes

The front of the 2026 Hyundai Exter facelift features subtle updates. The grille now has "Exter" lettering on a connected gloss black panel between the LED DRLs, giving a wider and more premium look. The lighting setup remains unchanged, with H-shaped LED DRLs and halogen headlamps. The bumper has a redesigned silver skid plate, adding a rugged touch compared to the previous model.
The side profile maintains its boxy silhouette and tall stance. Hyundai has enhanced the wheel arches for a more muscular appearance and introduced a new design for the 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Roof rails, black cladding, and indicator-mounted ORVMs continue as before.
At the rear, the LED tail lamps are retained. Updates include a new wing-style rear spoiler and a slimmer silver accent on the bumper for a cleaner finish. An underbody spare wheel is now standard across all variants.
The facelift brings two new exterior colors: Titanium Black Matte and Golden Bronze. Existing options such as Starry Night, Atlas White, Titan Grey, Titanium Black, and Ranger Khaki remain available.
Interior and Feature Enhancements

The interior layout is familiar, but Hyundai has introduced a new navy blue and grey dual-tone cabin theme. This updated finish is visible on the dashboard and door panels, giving the cabin a modern look. The steering wheel now features a blue finish but retains the traditional Hyundai logo.
A new armrest for the driver improves comfort. Rear passengers now benefit from Type-C charging ports, a feature not available in the pre-facelift model. The dashboard design, dual-screen setup, and AC vent placement remain unchanged.
The Exter facelift continues to offer a semi-digital instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, cruise control, single-pane sunroof, auto headlamps, and height-adjustable driver’s seat. New features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support (via an adapter) and rear Type-C charging ports.
Engine, Safety, and Variants
The Exter facelift retains the same engine options: a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol with CNG. The petrol engine offers an AMT option, while the CNG version is available only with a manual gearbox.
Safety features remain unchanged, with six airbags standard, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, tyre pressure monitoring system, a reverse parking camera and sensors, and hill start assist.
The revised variant lineup ranges from HX2 to HX10. The Exter continues to compete with the Tata Punch and Citroen C3 and serves as an SUV alternative to the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios within Hyundai’s range.
