Hyundai Introduced Exter CNG with Dual-Cylinder Technology

Hyundai Motor India Limited has introduced a new variant of its entry-level SUV, the Exter, featuring dual cylinder CNG technology. The Exter Hy-CNG Duo, available in S, SX, and Knight Edition variants, starts at Rs 8,50,300. This new offering aims to provide customers with a fuel-efficient vehicle that maintains ample boot space, addressing a common concern with CNG vehicles. The dual-fuel system allows the Exter CNG to run on both petrol and CNG, offering versatility to users.

Key features of the Exter Hy-CNG Duo include:

• 1.2-liter Bi-Fuel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission

• Fuel efficiency of 27.1 km/kg (ARAI tested)

• Company-fitted CNG system with a 3-year warranty

• Integrated Electronic Control Unit for seamless fuel switching

The SUV comes equipped with modern amenities such as a smart electric sunroof, LED DRLs and tail lamps, fully automatic temperature control, and a 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system. Safety features include six airbags, TPMS highline, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC).

The launch of the Exter Hy-CNG Duo aligns with Hyundai's commitment to sustainable mobility solutions. Since its introduction in 2023, the Exter has sold over 93,000 units, indicating strong market acceptance. The new CNG variant is expected to further enhance the model's appeal among environmentally conscious consumers.
