Hyundai IONIQ 6 Electric Charges Ahead to Win 'World Car of the Year' at the New York Auto Show!

Hyundai Motor Company celebrated a triple victory at the 2023 World Car Finals held at the New York International Automobile Show, with the HYUNDAI vehicle sweeping up three coveted awards. Not only did it win the overall 2023 World Car of the Year title, but it also clinched the 2023 World Electric Vehicle and the 2023 World Car Design of the Year awards.

Excitingly, visitors attending the New York Auto Show between April 7-16 will have the opportunity to experience the new IONIQ 6 firsthand, as Hyundai is offering test drives on their track.

SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President, Head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design Center, represented Hyundai Motor Company at the awards ceremony. He participated in a Q&A session with the media and was also recognized with the prestigious 2023 World Car PERSON of the Year trophy, further adding to the company's achievements.

2023 marks the 18th year of the World Car Awards’ partnership with the New York International Auto Show.

The winners of the 2023 World Car Finals were chosen by a panel of 100 renowned international automotive journalists hailing from 32 different countries. 

These judges evaluated each eligible vehicle as part of their regular professional work and cast their votes via secret ballot. KPMG, a leading auditing and advisory firm, then meticulously tabulated the results of the voting process.
