EV June Sales

India’s electric vehicle market is scaling up with remarkable value. In June 2025, the surge in the sales of EVs was more than the previous month. According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers' Association (FADA), the sales of EVs surged by 28.6% year-on-year, reaching a total of 180,238 units. This substantial growth is attributable to the rising demand for electric vehicles in the country.

The upward trajectory of EV adoption is due to the indication of growing awareness, lucrative discounts by dealerships in sales, and supportive government policies. Not only were e-passenger vehicles growing, but the two-wheeler EV segment also shows a more positive graph than four-wheelers. Even the commercial EV vehicles retain growth in sales. This result shows that the Indian automotive industry is rapidly evolving towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.

Electric Vehicle Sales in June 2025: Segment-wise Performance

The latest data from FADA showcases a broader presentation of how the rise in EV acceleration is performing well across various automotive segments in the month of June 2025.

Electric Passenger Vehicles:

The most standout performance in June 2025 was the sales and services of the electric passenger vehicles. FADA reported that the sales of e-PVs had nearly doubled year by year. The market shows a 79.95% jump from the previous year. The total number of units sold was approximately 13,178 in June 2025, compared to 7,323 in June 2024.

This surge in sales shows that buyers are now referring to their first car as an EV. The precedent market shows an estimated 80% growth from the same month in 2024.

Electric Two-Wheelers:

Without the sale of two-wheelers, the Indian automotive market would dissolve. As the lifeline of the EV industry, the sales of e-two-wheelers show a rise from 27% to 31.69%. In June 2025, around 1,05,355 electric two-wheelers were sold in the market. While only 80,003 units were sold in June 2024.

In the two-wheeler segment, e-scooters play an important role in the growth of electric vehicles. This segment is driven by low-cost models, lower operating costs, and an increasing number of urban commuters looking for environmentally friendly mobility solutions.

Electric Three-Wheelers:

Three-Wheeler EV Sales

You can’t imagine transportation without electric three-wheelers in India. Year by year, we can witness the rise of e-rickshaws and autos. This segment has shown splendid growth, with 60,559 units sold in June 2025. It’s a 15.8% increase from 52,302 units a year ago.

In today’s time, the three-wheeler vehicle rules the EV market with 60.2% shares in the Indian automotive landscape. This shows that the rise of e-autos and e-rickshaws is increasing, and so is the employment in urban transport.

Electric Commercial Vehicles:

The contribution of electric commercial vehicles might be smaller when compared to ICE variants. But these vehicles have also contributed to the growth of EV sales. This 122.5% year-on-year increase shows that buyers are now rising for e-commercial vehicles too.
Factors for the surge of EV sales in India.

There are various factors that have increased the supply and demand for electric vehicles in India. But these factors seem to be the most prominent ones for the surge of EV sales in India to new heights.

  • Policy Support
  • Product Innovation
  • Infrastructure Expansion

Conclusion:

The current state shows the upward rise in the sales of EVs in India. Even with the rise of e-autos in India, the EV growth seems to be a potential development in vehicle sales. This is a clear indication that our nation is now moving towards sustainable mobility in the future.
