While the company has not confirmed the model, industry sources anticipate a badge-engineered SUV based on the Wuling Starlight 560. JSW-MG has already patented this model in India, and test vehicles have been seen on Indian roads, indicating the company's intent to expand its local lineup.

The upcoming three-row SUV will likely fit between existing models in JSW-MG's Indian portfolio, possibly between the and the Majestor. The Wuling Starlight 560, on which this SUV is based, is available globally as both a plug-in hybrid and a fully electric vehicle. Patent images suggest that the plug-in hybrid version may be the first to arrive in India. The hybrid variant is distinguished by its unique grille design.
Design highlights include dual LED daytime running light strips on the front, a blacked-out grille, contrast-colored skid plates, large machine-cut alloy wheels, black roof rails and pillars, and LED taillights. Inside, the SUV is expected to feature a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital colored driver’s display, a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, dual-tone upholstery, wireless mobile charging, six airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Powertrain and Performance Details
Internationally, the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant of the Wuling Starlight 560 uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine is paired with a 20.5kWh battery pack, delivering a combined output of 194bhp and 230Nm of torque. The fully electric version uses a 56.7kWh battery pack and offers a claimed range of 530km on a single charge.
It is not yet confirmed if JSW-MG will introduce the fully electric version in India. The company may initially focus on the plug-in hybrid version, considering current market trends and infrastructure.
Market Implications
The introduction of a new hybrid SUV could strengthen JSW-MG’s position in India’s growing NEV segment. The company’s move aligns with the increasing demand for hybrid and electric vehicles in the country. More details about pricing, features, and availability are expected to be announced at the official unveiling on 16 July.
