The 2026 Tata Sierra EV continues the legacy of the original Sierra with several design cues. The front features a blanked-off body-color grille, distinct from the internal combustion engine (ICE) version. It includes a full-width LED daytime running light (DRL) setup, with main headlamps positioned lower on the bumper. The front bumper integrates silver skid plate elements, enhancing the SUV's rugged appearance.

From the side, the Sierra EV retains its large glass area and the signature rear quarter window, a hallmark of the original model. The vehicle also features flush-fitting door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheels, contributing to a clean and modern design. At the rear, connected LED taillamps and a robust bumper further emphasize its muscular stance.

Interior and Features

Tata Motors has previewed the Sierra EV's interior, which differs from the current Tata lineup. The dashboard adopts a layered design in an ivory theme and includes a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. A triple-screen layout spans the dashboard, comprising an infotainment touchscreen, a digital driver's display, and a passenger screen. The panoramic sunroof is also visible in teasers. The cabin is expected to offer multiple storage spaces for practicality.

Additional features likely include ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a powered tailgate, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, and connected car technology.

Powertrain and Performance

The Sierra EV will use Tata's 'Acti.ev' architecture and feature an all-wheel-drive layout. This makes it the second Tata EV, after the Harrier EV, to use a dual electric motor configuration. The expected battery pack is around 75 kWh, with a claimed range of over 500 km. Power output is estimated at 238 PS for the rear motor and 158 PS for the front motor.

Safety equipment is expected to include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Tata is also expected to provide a Level-2 ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.

Expected Price and Rivals

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to start at around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Harrier EV, Toyota Ebella, and Maruti Suzuki eVitara.

CarBike 360 Says

The Tata Sierra EV marks a significant step in Tata Motors’ electric journey, blending iconic design with next-generation technology. With its expected competitive pricing, modern features, and strong brand legacy, the Sierra EV is poised to attract both nostalgic enthusiasts and new-age EV buyers, potentially setting a new benchmark in India’s growing electric SUV segment.
