MG M9 EV

Latest Update: JSW MG Motor India has commenced the booking for its MG M9 EV in the Indian market. MG Motor has kept the token amount of Rs 51,000 for customers to confirm their booking for its luxury electric MPV. 

MG M9 EV was first showcased at the 2025 Delhi Auto Expo and is expected to launch in India by the end of May 2025. The automaker has confirmed to sell this flagship MPV through its new ‘Select’ premium retail network. 

The M9 electric MPV will be brought to India as a completely knocked down (CKD) unit and assembled at MG’s manufacturing facility in Gujarat. With this strategy, the automaker will benefit from lower import duties than taxes on importing completely built units.

While announcing the booking of its flagship MPV, the company also revealed that the upcoming MG EV will have presidential seats. The individual second-row seats are said to be styled after business-class airline seating. These seats have 16-way power adjustment and eight massage, heating, and ventilation functions. 

The electric MPV will have 64-color ambient lighting, a 12-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof with a yacht-inspired design, and dual interior color trims, including pure black and cognac brown. 

The upcoming M9 electric will be launched in a front-wheel drive option paired with a front-mounted electric motor and a 90kWh lithium-ion battery. The configuration offers 245 hp of power output and 350 Nm of peak torque, with a claimed WLTP range of 430 km. 

In India, the MG M9 will be available in three color options: Mystic Grey, Luminous White, and Cardiff Black. It will have a boxy exterior design with a premium stance, featuring sleek LED DRLs, a muscular bumper, and 19-inch alloy wheels for a bold and modern look. The electric MPV from MG Motor will have an overall length of 5,207 mm. 

The M9 will have powered rear sliding doors and an entertainment screen for better comfort. MG M9 EV will sport multiple airbags, 360-degree cameras, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes, electronic parking brakes, and a Level 2 ADAS system for occupant safety. 

Price & Competitor

While the pricing details are not confirmed, the MG M9 electric MPV is expected to be priced between Rs 65 lakh to Rs 75 lakh. Once launched, the MG M9 EV will compete with the Kia Carnival, which is priced from Rs 63 lakh.
