- The Mercedes-Benz GLC is offered with two mild-hybrid 4-cylinder engines – one diesel and one petrol, both paired with 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
- The GLC 220d 4MATIC uses a 2.0-litre OM654M diesel engine producing 197 hp and 440 Nm of torque, delivering strong low-end pull and excellent cruising ability.
- The GLC 300 4MATIC is powered by a 2.0-litre M254 petrol engine that develops 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque, offering quicker acceleration and smoother performance.
- Both engines feature a 48-volt mild-hybrid system with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that provides up to 17 kW additional boost and 200 Nm extra torque when required.
- Power is sent to all four wheels via the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, ensuring better grip in wet and rough road conditions.
- The GLC 220d accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 8 seconds, while the GLC 300 does the same sprint in just 6.2 seconds.
- The top speed is 219 km/h for the diesel and 240 km/h for the petrol variant, making it one of the fastest luxury SUVs in this segment.
- The Comfort Suspension with selective damping system automatically adjusts damping, ride comfort and stability based on road conditions.

I've been driving the GLC for two years now, and while its comfort is commendable, I faced some issues with the infotainment system. The response is lagging at times, and though the sound quality is good, I hoped for smoother connectivity. The car’s engine performance is decent, but I expected a bit more punch at this price point. Boot space is adequate for weekend getaways. The design is attractive, nonetheless.
