Six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines powers the X5 lineup. A 2,998cc straight-six turbocharged petrol engine with 335 bhp and 650 Nm of torque is the first feature of the xDrive40i trims. Second, there is a 2,993cc straight-six turbocharged diesel engine that can produce 620 Nm of torque and 262bhp. An automated transmission with eight speeds is connected to both motors.

This mid-size SUV has a wheelbase of 2,975mm and a length of 4,922mm. Additionally, BMW equipped it with a single kidney grille with eye-catching chrome trim and substantial air inlets in the front bumper. Additionally, it has LED DRLs built into the air inlets and BMW LaserLight with adaptive headlights and selective beam. The SUV also receives 20-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a two-part boot opening, and running boards.

The high-end cockpit for the X5 is offered in a range of colors. The seats come with premium Vernasca leather upholstery from BMW, while the fascia is covered in Sensatec faux leather. A 16-speaker, 464-watt Harman Kardon audio system and two 12.3-inch screens with BMW Live Cockpit Professional are also included.

Adaptive air suspension, a powered tailgate, ambient lighting in six colors, heated side-view mirrors with anti-dazzle features, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control with a separate control unit for the back seats, a BMW display key, a heads-up display, parking and reversing assistance, surround-view cameras, and attentiveness attention are just a few of the features that the X5 is fitted with, depending on the variant.

Advanced safety measures and driver assistance technology are standard on the BMW X5. All of the safety elements that would be additional on another car are included in Active Driving Assistant, a standard safety system offered by BMW. These safety features include blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, low-speed automated emergency braking, forward collision warning with a pedestrian and cyclist warning, and rear automatic emergency braking.
