Mercedes-Benz GLS Highlights

The modified version of Mercedes Benz GL was launched in 2012. The GLS beautifully blends in some of the new styles and design internally as well as externally. The name change of Mercedes SUVs is done under the new format of nomenclature. The exterior has been adorned with a new stylish split grille design, bumper, new set of headlamps and larger spacing for a logo on the front. The back and side profile gets a few chrome add-ons along with a new set of LED lights. The new design is highly comparable to its counterparts like Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90. The SUV has a wide wheelbase making it a spacious car. The interiors get a similar dashboard as GL. The only change is the touchpad, table like COMAND operated unit in the infotainment system. At the given price range, this is the larger SUV available in the market. It also has an extra-large sunroof, electric tailgate and a 360-degree camera like any other SUV with a seven-seater accommodation. Talking of safety, the GLS provides optimum road safety with a total of nine airbags and all the possible electric and automatic assistance any car can provide. The interior also has a contrasting element in terms of colors. Another alterations done in the new GLS is the clutch transmission system with a nine-speed clutch transmission. It runs on diesel as well as petrol with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, producing power of 258bhp with a maximum torque of 620Nm. It also has additional sport mode with a stiffer ride, heavy steers, and a sharp gear shifting. Another mode is in the slippery conditions. It reaches from 0 to 100km in just 8.3 seconds. The fuel efficiency is comparatively lower within the range of 8.6kmpl to 11 km in petrol and diesel variants respectively.
