MG Motor India has opened a new dealership in Nepal, marking its official entry into the Nepalese car market. The company partnered with GO Automobiles, part of the Golchha Organization, a major financial group in Nepal. MG will offer its standard range of vehicles in Nepal, though the availability of the premium 'MG Select' models remains unconfirmed.

MG Models Available in Nepal
MG plans to sell its mass-market models in Nepal. This includes the MG Comet, MG Windsor, MG Hector, and MG Astor. The upcoming MG Majestor may join the lineup after its launch. The MG Select range, which features models like the MG M9 and MG Cyberster, is not yet confirmed for the Nepalese market. MG sells these premium models through a separate dealership network.

MG Comet
The MG Comet is a two-door hatchback with a tallboy design. It features LED lighting and 12-inch steel wheels. The car comes in three variants and three color options in India. Key features include a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 4-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and manual air conditioning.
Safety features include dual airbags, a rear parking camera, rear disc brakes, ABS with EBD, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The Comet uses a 17.4 kWh battery pack and a single electric motor, offering a claimed range of 230 km. Its price in India ranges from Rs 7.63 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
MG Windsor EV
The MG Windsor EV is a five-seater electric crossover. It features connected LED lighting and flush door handles. The Windsor is among the best-selling EVs in India. It offers a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic glass roof, and ventilated front seats. Safety features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, and parking sensors.
The Windsor has a single front-axle electric motor producing 136 PS and 200 Nm. It is available with a 38 kWh battery (332 km claimed range) and a 52.9 kWh battery (449 km claimed range). Prices in India range from Rs 14.10 lakh to Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
MG Hector and Astor
The MG Hector is a midsize SUV with a bold design and 18-inch alloy wheels. It is available in a 7-seater variant called Hector Plus. Features include a 14-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, wireless connectivity, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS. Safety features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, and hill hold control.
The Hector offers a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (143 PS, 250 Nm) with manual or CVT transmission and a 2-litre diesel engine (170 PS, 350 Nm) with a manual gearbox. Prices in India range from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 19.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
The MG Astor is a five-seater compact SUV with a premium design. It features a celestial grill and LED headlamps. The Astor offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and Level 2 ADAS.
Safety features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, and tyre pressure monitoring. It uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine (110 PS, 144 Nm) with manual or CVT transmission. Prices in India range from Rs 9.79 lakh to Rs 15.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Electric Vehicle Options and Market Context
The MG ZS EV features a closed-off grille, LED headlamps, and 17-inch alloy wheels. It offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, wireless connectivity, six airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. The ZS EV uses a 50.3 kWh battery and a single front-mounted motor (176 PS, 280 Nm), with a claimed range of 461 km.
MG offers Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plans, allowing buyers to pay a lower upfront price and a monthly battery fee. Nepal's car market is small but growing, especially for SUVs and electric vehicles. MG's expansion into Nepal aims to meet rising demand for modern, practical, and electric mobility options.
