The Wuling Starlight 560 has been spotted testing again, this time near MG's Halol plant in Gujarat. This marks the second sighting of the upcoming SUV near the facility, confirmed by temporary GJ 17 registration plates. The vehicle is expected to join MG's India lineup soon, possibly replacing the Hector Plus.

Exterior and Interior Features


The Starlight 560's side profile, seen under camouflage, resembles an MPV. The latest spy shots reveal the rear end, showing tail lights with a design similar to the front DRLs. The SUV features an all-LED lighting setup, skid plates, roof rails, 215/55 section 18-inch tyres, dual-tone alloy wheels, and a split tail-lamp design.
Inside, the Starlight 560 comes with a two-spoke steering wheel, a 3.5-inch instrument cluster, and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity. Leatherette upholstery adds to the premium feel. The vehicle offers three rows of seating, targeting families and larger groups.
Powertrain and Performance
The India-spec Starlight 560 is expected to offer both plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains. The electric variant uses a 134bhp motor producing 200Nm of torque, paired with a 56.7kWh battery pack. This setup is the same as seen in the Windsor EV.
The plug-in hybrid version features a 20.5kWh Shenlian LFP battery pack combined with a petrol engine. Together, they deliver a total output of 194.3bhp and 230Nm of torque. For comparison, the MG Hector Plus uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 141bhp and 250Nm of torque.
Pricing and Expected Launch
Internationally, the Starlight 560 is priced between Rs. 21 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh. The MG Hector Plus starts at Rs. 17.49 lakh in India. If the Starlight 560 launches at a similar price point, it will carry a premium of around Rs. 3.5 lakh over the Hector Plus.
MG is expected to launch the Starlight 560 in India in the first half of the current calendar year. The SUV will likely target buyers seeking advanced features and alternative powertrain options.
