Major Electric Vehicle Launches
Tesla introduced a new variant of its Model Y for India. The Tesla Model Y L features a longer body and wheelbase, accommodating three rows of seats in a 2+2+2 layout. This variant includes a dual-motor All Wheel Drive system and offers a claimed range of over 500 km on a single charge.
Mercedes-Benz launched the CLA Electric, its entry-level electric sedan, in a single 250 Plus variant. The CLA Electric provides a claimed driving range of over 750 km with a single battery pack and rear-wheel drivetrain. Bookings for this model have already started. To mark 140 years of innovation, Mercedes-Benz also introduced limited Celebration Editions of the C-Class and E-Class, featuring cosmetic changes, additional features, and collectible elements.
Key SUV Updates and Safety Results
The Renault Duster underwent crash testing by Bharat NCAP, becoming the first model from the brand to be tested under these norms. The Duster achieved a full five-star safety rating across major parameters. This result places it among the top performers in its segment, alongside rivals like the Sierra, Seltos, and Victoris.
Kia updated its Syros SUV with model-year changes. The variant lineup now includes three new trims, while some previous trims have been discontinued. Kia has also removed certain major features to make the Syros more accessible. The updated Syros receives cosmetic tweaks and new color options.
Hyundai introduced a special Knight Edition of the Venue SUV, similar to the Creta Knight Edition. This version features an all-black design and is available on select trims with petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel engines. Additionally, the Venue and Venue N Line standard models now offer a new color and a key safety feature. These updates apply to specific trims and come at a premium of up to Rs 13,000.
