Kia Carens Clavis is finally launched in India at an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 11.50 lakh. The top-spec model of Clavis MPV goes up to Rs 21.50 lakh. Kia officially commenced booking its premium Clavis MPV on May 8 for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Korean automobile manufacturer also revealed that the Clavis will be sold alongside the Caren MPV.
Kia Carens Clavis Price List
The base variant of the Kia Clavis MPV is priced at Rs 11.50 lakh, while the top-spec variant comes at a price tag of 21.50 lakh.

Kia Carens Clavis Exterior Design
The all-new Clavis is primarily a facelift of the Caren MPV, underpinning the K2 platform. It gets a new light bar connected with inverted L-shaped DRLs and features triple pod headlights similar to those in the Kia EV5. The Clavis also gets faux metal trim in silver on the bumper chin. While the overall silhouette of Clavis looks similar to the Carens MPV, it gets additional plastic cladding and wheel arches for a distinctive profile. Kia Clavis also receives larger 17-inch alloy wheels and sharper LED taillights, commencing with a new lightbar on the rear end.
Kia Carens Clavis Interior Features
Kia has offered six- and seven-seat configurations in its Clavis, where the six-seat option comes with second-row captain seats. It also gets a blue and beige theme-based driver dashboard with dual 12.3-inch displays, one for infotainment and another for driver display. It is important to note that the bigger infotainment system in the top-spec Clavis HTX variant does not get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In contrast, the lower-spec 8-inch unit gets the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. It also gets a switchable touch-sensitive panel under the central air vent handles for media and climate control. The front seats have a ventilation option with an electronically adjustable function for the driver seat. Additionally, the Clavis receives a wireless charger, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, an air purifier, a panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes, and paddle shifters. Like the Hyundai Alcazar, Boss mode is for the co-driver’s seat.
Kia Carens Safety Features
The all-new Kia Clavis MPV has several safety features like Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera setup. It includes blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. The MPV also gets six airbags, ABS, hill start assist, TPMS, and all-four disc brakes as standard.
Kia Carens Clavis Powertrain
Kia has offered three powertrain options in Carens Clavis, including a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine that produces 160 horsepower and 253 Nm of peak torque and comes mated with a 6MT, 6iMT, or 7-DCT unit. In comparison, the 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine produces 116 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque and is configured with 6MT or 6AT, while the 1.5-liter petrol option delivers 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque and gets a 6MT unit for smooth handling and drive experience. Depending upon the variant, the Kia Clavis MPV can deliver an average fuel mileage of 15.34 km/l to 19.54 km/l.
Kia Carens Clavis Competitors
Kia Carens Clavis will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder with an extended range of variants and multiple powertrain options. The top-end variant of Clavis can also compete with the entry-level variants of Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700.
