Nexon Rival Kia Sonet Set to Roll Out Affordable Sunroof Variants

Kia has lately been updating its existing models with some new adjustments here and there. After recent adjustments in Seltos and Carens lineups, the company has shifted its focus toward one of the popular models in India, Kia Sonet. To compete with the segment leader like Nexon, Kia has already highlighted its plan to unveil two new sub-trims within its Sonet lineup. These variants will be based on lower-tier main trims like HTE and HTK. Moerevr, these variants will feature sunroof-equipped at easily accessible price points.
Responding to Market Demands
At present, Kia offers Sonet in seven trim levels, HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+ and X Line. The model has made its own place in the Indian market in the compact SUV segment. However, these days the increasing customer demands had preferences, the brand has planned to introduce two new trims, HTE (O) and HTK (O). These two variants claim to incorporate sunroof features.
Sunroof: Key Selling Point
Despite being a feature not deemed necessary by all, the inclusion of sunroofs has become increasingly popular among Indian car buyers. Recognizing this trend, Kia's decision to introduce sunroof-equipped variants in lower-tier trims reflects a strategic move to align with market demands. This strategy not only enhances the Sonet's value proposition but also intensifies its rivalry with competitors like the Tata Nexon.

Potential Additions
Along with sunroofs in HTE (O) and HTK (O) trim levels, is it expected that these itenaries will be equipped with some more comprehensive and upgraded features, like ventilated seats, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and sunroof.
Specifications
The upcoming Sonet variants are expected to come with the same powertrain options as the existing ones. The powertrain will include a choice between a 1.2L 4-cylinder NA petrol engine, a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5L oil burner turbo diesel engine. We can expect a range of manual and automatic transmissions, when it comes to Gearbox features.
