KTM has introduced the 890 Adventure R Rally, its most performance-oriented mid-capacity adventure motorcycle. The company will offer this model in limited numbers worldwide. The 890 Adventure R Rally draws direct inspiration from the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rally bikes and features upgraded hardware for demanding conditions.

Key Features and Specifications

The standout feature of the 890 Adventure R Rally is its WP Pro Components suspension. KTM states this suspension comes directly from the WP Factory Racing programme. The motorcycle uses a lightweight WP Xplor Pro USD fork and a WP Xplor Pro shock, both offering 270mm of travel. This setup aims to deliver strong damping performance on rough terrain while ensuring comfort for touring or carrying a passenger.

The 890 Adventure R Rally is powered by an 889cc parallel-twin engine. This engine produces 106hp and 100Nm of torque. The bike also includes an Akrapovič slip-on exhaust, which helps reduce weight and enhance performance.

Rally-specific features include a rally seat, racing footpegs, and a wheel setup with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear. The motorcycle also comes equipped with carbon tank guards and a Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket for added durability.

Electronics and Design

The electronics package on the 890 Adventure R Rally is comprehensive. It includes switchable ABS, multiple ride modes with a dedicated Rally mode, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, and traction control. Riders can adjust these settings through a 5-inch TFT display.

Visually, the motorcycle features a livery inspired by the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team. This design links the production model closely to KTM’s rally racing heritage.

KTM has confirmed the 890 Adventure R Rally will be available in limited quantities worldwide. However, the company has not disclosed the exact number of units planned for production.
