KTM has introduced the 2026 890 Adventure R Rally, the most advanced version of its middleweight off-road adventure lineup. This model approaches full competition standards and will be produced in limited numbers globally. Production will begin in Austria in March.
Key Highlights
- KTM reveals 2026 890 Adventure R Rally as its top middleweight off-road model
- WP XPLOR PRO suspension and 270mm travel bring rally-level performance
- 889cc parallel twin engine delivers 104bhp and 100Nm torque
- Tech Pack includes Rally Mode, Quickshifter+, Cruise Control and more
- Bajaj Auto now fully owns KTM AG after November 2025 acquisition
Key Features and Specifications

The 890 Adventure R Rally features WP XPLOR PRO suspension, which comes from KTM's Factory Racing competition programs. This includes a Cone Valve fork and a matching rear shock, both providing 270mm of travel. This setup moves the motorcycle closer to rally-style performance than most adventure bikes available in showrooms.
Standard equipment includes an Akrapovic slip-on Line exhaust, a rally seat, Factory Racing footpegs, carbon tank guards, heavy-duty wheels, and a Supersprox-Stealth rear sprocket. The motorcycle uses an 889cc parallel twin engine, producing 104bhp and 100Nm of torque. Riders benefit from accessible torque, a manageable size, and enough power to maintain momentum on challenging terrain.
Technology and Equipment
The 890 Adventure R Rally comes equipped with KTM's Tech Pack. This includes Rally Mode, Quickshifter+, Cruise Control, and Motor Slip Regulation. Additional features are Offroad ABS, multiple ride modes, and a 5-inch TFT display with Turn-by-Turn+ navigation. These electronic aids enhance both performance and safety for riders tackling diverse conditions.
Business Developments and Market Impact
In November 2025, Bajaj Auto acquired full ownership of Pierer Bajaj AG and gained complete control of KTM AG. This new structure could streamline decision-making for premium imports, homologation, and distribution, especially in markets like India. The potential for KTM India to expand its range of CBU models will depend on demand for high-spec, small-volume adventure motorcycles above the standard 890 Adventure R.
