Key Highlights
- Lexus India extends standard warranty to eight years or 2,00,000 kilometres
- New warranty applies to all Lexus models sold from April 1 2026
- Coverage offered at no additional cost to customers across India
- Lexus ES 300h remains a key model after local assembly began in 2020
Warranty Details and Coverage
The updated warranty places Lexus India among the few luxury carmakers in the country to offer such a long standard warranty period. The company announced the change at its Bengaluru facility on April 28, 2026. The extended warranty will be available for all Lexus models currently sold in India. This ensures that every customer receives the same level of coverage, regardless of the model or vehicle type.
Lexus states that the new warranty aims to provide greater peace of mind for buyers over a longer ownership cycle. The company says this move reflects its confidence in the reliability and durability of its vehicles. Existing ownership solutions, such as service packages, finance schemes, insurance, and roadside assistance, will continue to be available to customers.
Lexus in the Indian Market
Lexus entered the Indian market in 2017. Since then, it has established a presence in the luxury hybrid segment. The brand's portfolio includes sedans and SUVs. The Lexus ES 300h is a key model, especially since local assembly began in 2020. This has helped the company strengthen its position in the market.
Globally, Lexus operates in many markets and focuses on electrified powertrains, especially hybrids. The company says its ownership experience follows the Japanese philosophy of "Omotenashi," which emphasizes thoughtful and attentive customer service. With the new warranty programme, Lexus aims to further enhance the ownership experience for its Indian customers.
