Lexus ES Highlights
Lexus- the iconic luxury vehicle brand of the Japanese auto giant Toyota has recently launched the seventh generation of the compact executive car- Lexus ES at the Beijing Motor Show. The 2019 Lexus ES is the third sedan under the group 'Future Chapter of Lexus'. The vehicle comes with stunning looks and a coupe-like silhouette inherited from its predecessor. It remains based on Toyota’s new Global Architecture-K (GA-K) platform and reaches the Indian shores through Complete Built-Up (CBU) route. The manufacturer sells the car in only one variant in the Indian market- 300h. The exterior of Lexus ES sports an edgy stance and a massive company’s signature grille, which looks like a piece of art. It remains flanked on both sides by two sharp twin-barrel projector lamps with LED DRLs. The sedan runs on 17-inch alloy wheels and demonstrates a ground clearance of 151 mm.
The new Lexus ES features a rich and flamboyant cabin with opulent use of ultra-soft plastics, especially on the upper side. You also get the steering wheel, gear lever, and door pads wrapped with premium leather for a luxurious experience. However, doors and armrests come in hard plastic downgrading the riding experience. The cabin also features heated and ventilated bucket seats at the front and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen paired with a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system delivering a crystal clear listening experience. The new Lexus ES gets powered by a BS-VI compliant, 2487cc, 4-cylinders Inline petrol motor. It churns out an impressive 215 bhp @ 5700 rpm, and a peak torque of 220 Nm @ 3600 rpm. The oil burner remains mated to a 6-step CVT unit transmitting power linearly and smoothly to rear wheels. You get four drive modes in the sedan- Normal, Eco, Sport and EV for dynamic riding experience. Finally, we can say that the Lexus ES is a stunning sedan with a highly refined engine.
