Mahindra's upcoming electric SUV, the BE 07, has been spotted testing in camouflage, signalling its approach to production. The BE 07 is expected to sit above the BE 6 in Mahindra's EV lineup, offering a more conventional and practical SUV design. The new model is likely to launch by early next year, with an estimated price range of Rs 22 lakh to 28 lakh (ex-showroom).
Key Highlights
- Mahindra BE 07 electric SUV spotted testing with camouflage.
- Expected to launch by early next year, priced between Rs 22 lakh and 28 lakh.
- Likely to offer up to 600 km claimed range with multiple battery options.
- Features include triple-screen dashboard, panoramic glass roof, and 16-speaker sound system
- Will compete with Tata Harrier EV, BYD Atto 3, and Hyundai Creta Electric
Exterior Design and Features
The Mahindra BE 07 appears larger than the BE 6, adopting a traditional SUV silhouette rather than the coupe-inspired style of the BE 6 and XEV 9e. The front fascia is heavily camouflaged, but it is expected to feature squared C-shaped DRLs, similar to the BE 6, maintaining brand identity. The front will also include conventionally mounted LED projector headlamps with a cornering function, sculpted bumpers, and fog lamps positioned at the bottom.
Other visible details include flush-fit pop-out door handles and large alloy wheels, both common in Mahindra's recent SUV models. The rear quarter of the test vehicle looks large and boxy, raising the possibility of a third row of seats. Notably, the BE 07 features frameless doors, a design element typically seen in luxury vehicles.
At the rear, the SUV has a large, clamshell-shaped bootlid and is expected to carry over the C-shaped LED tail lamps from the BE 6. A sharply raked rear windscreen and a roof spoiler, which seems to conceal the rear wiper and washer, add to the vehicle's sleek look.
Interior and Technology
Interior images remain unavailable, but the BE 07 is expected to feature a modern, radical design with a triple-screen dashboard layout. Reference images from the Mahindra XEV 9e suggest a high-tech cabin environment.
Anticipated features include connected car technology, powered and ventilated front seats with driver memory, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual wireless phone chargers, a heads-up display, a fixed panoramic glass roof with LED lighting, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Performance, Safety, and Expected Rivals
While Mahindra has not revealed battery and powertrain details, the BE 07 is likely to use the same 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh battery packs as the XEV 9S. These could provide a claimed range of up to 600 km. A dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup is also rumoured for this model.
The BE 6 and XEV 9e have both achieved 5-star ratings in Bharat NCAP safety tests. Given the BE 07's close relation to these models, similar safety performance is expected.
The Mahindra BE 07 will compete with several upcoming electric SUVs, including the Tata Harrier EV, Sierra EV, VinFast VF 7, Maruti Suzuki eVitara, BYD Atto 3, Toyota Ebella, and Hyundai Creta Electric.

With a futuristic design, dedicated EV platform, and advanced features likely on offer, it could become a key player in India’s electric SUV segment. As testing intensifies, more details are expected to emerge, shaping expectations further.
