Mahindrahas shown off the final production-spec designs for its future all-electric coupe-SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e. Important additions to Mahindra's born-electric range, these cars will be revealed worldwide on November 26 with the goal of bolstering the company's position in the EV industry. The XEV 9e and BE 6e, which have substantial financial support, represent Mahindra's bold foray into electric transportation. 

Design Highlights

The production designs of the XEV 9e and BE 6e stay impressively close to their concept versions. Notable features include:

  • Aggressive cuts, creases, and contoured surfaces.
  • LED daytime running lights.
  • Gloss black cladding around prominent wheel arches.
  • Flush door handles integrated on the C-pillars.

New Design Details

Recent teaser images have provided a closer look at:

  • Illuminated logos: The BE 6e displays the 'BE' logo, while the XEV 9e sports Mahindra's infinity logo.
  • Aero-optimised alloy wheels.
  • The LED projector headlamp setup on the BE 6e.
  • A distinctive hood scoop on the BE 6e, likely enhancing aerodynamic efficiency.

Technology and Features

Mahindra aims to stand out in the EV market with not just bold design but also advanced technology:
The BE 6e will feature a futuristic cockpit-style interior, highlighted by dual floating infotainment screens and a driver-focused halo.

The XEV 9e, derived from the XUV700, boasts a unique setup with triple screens spanning the width of the dashboard and shared switchgear with the XUV700.

Battery and Performance Options

Both the XEV 9e and BE 6e are expected to offer:

  • Two battery pack options: a 60kWh and a 79kWh variant.
  • An estimated 450 km range for the 79kWh unit under the WLTP cycle.
  • Support for ultra-fast charging to enhance convenience.

At launch, both models will be available in a rear-wheel-drive configuration, with the BE 6e expected to gain an all-wheel-drive version later.
