Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to expand its pickup truck portfolio in India. The brand’s much-anticipated Scorpio N Pickup was recently spied testing in India ahead of its global debut. However, the Scorpio N Pickup has been spotted multiple times before, underlining the upcoming launch later this year. With a market potential for the lifestyle commercial pickup, Mahindra is trying to fill up the space by making a debut with its Scorpio N.

There are no official updates for the launch of the upcoming pickup truck from the brand. But we can resonate with the revealed spy shots that the debut launch might be ahead on August 15, 2025. These upcoming spy shots signify that the pickup truck might be based on the existing Scorpio platform. Let’s check out the possible insights of the upcoming Scorpio pickup.

Scorpion N Pickup: Expected Design Profile

The upcoming Scorpio N pickup would share its resemblance with the Scorpio N SUV. However, the pickup variant will be much longer considering the size of its bed. As per the reports, the size of the pickup would be estimated to be more than 5,300 mm in length. The recent spy shot was of the latest test mule spotted in Nashik wearing heavy camouflage.

While looking at the front fascia of the pickup truck, we can notice a single-cab variant with a slate grille design. The pickup is based on a rugged ladder-frame architecture shared with the Scorpio N SUV, promising durability and excellent load-carrying capabilities. The wheel arches appear to be the same as those of the Scorpio N. The test mule was of the lower variant, as the wheels were badged with steel rims.

Features

The Scorpion N Pickup might carry the bold, rugged characters of the Scorpio SUV. Moreover, the features are likely to be tuned for cost-effectiveness. The initial front fascia could feature LED headlamps and a bumper reminiscent of the Scorpio N SUV. Inside the cabin, the driver is expected to get two 10.25-inch screens, one for infotainment and the other for the instrument cluster. Other features might include the following:

  • Bluetooth Connectivity
  • Wireless Charger
  • Multi-Airbags
  • Hill Assist Control
  • ESP
  • ADAS
  • 4x4 variant

What’s under the hood?

The upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N pickup would be powered by a 2.2L diesel engine. This engine is the same as the one used in the Scorpio N SUV. This engine is configured into two different setups. In the lower configuration, it can produce 130 HP of power and 300 NM of torque. Whereas, the configuration genomes 172 HP and 370 Nm of maximum torque.

The brand can offer the pickup truck variant in a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic as an option to customers. However, if possible, we could also get a 2.0L turbo diesel engine.

Conclusion

If Mahindra is making plans to launch the Scorpio N pickup truck, then it would be great for the consumers, as at present, we only have the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross as premium pickup trucks. The Scorpion N pickup might create an affordable option against its rivals with better reliability and performance.
