In a move to solidify its position in the evolving electric vehicle market, Mahindra is actively developing its next-generation XUV.e and BE range of electric SUVs. These innovative SUVs, all built on the new INGLO platform, have been making frequent appearances as test mules. The latest sighting comes from Ladakh, where the XUV.e9 was spotted parked alongside Maruti Dzire and Maruti Alto models.

Features
The XUV.e9, essentially an electric variant of the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 Coupe or XUV800, boasts a powerful and dynamic road presence. Expected to measure around 4,790 mm in length, the Coupe SUV's striking features include a sloping roofline, curvy aerodynamic profile, and an overall design that exudes confidence and sophistication, a departure from the boxy profile of traditional SUVs.

Design Unveiled
Recent design patent filings for the XUV.e9 revealed a closed front panel, sleek C-shaped DRLs, a full-width LED light bar, sharp LED headlamps, and a chiseled bonnet. The side profile showcases sporty alloy wheels, circular fenders, and ORVMs with integrated turn signals. Cameras integrated into the ORVMs may support a 360° view. The coupe profile, beyond its aesthetic appeal, contributes to efficiency by reducing drag, while aerodynamic wheels enhance range.
Interior and User Experience
Mahindra aims to enhance user experience with segment-first features inside the XUV.e9. The interior is set to feature a triple-screen setup covering almost the full width of the dashboard, with a dedicated screen for the front passenger. The SUV is also expected to debut a new steering wheel with a backlit logo, similar to new-gen Tata cars. A fixed glass roof could further elevate the cabin experience, allowing natural light to flood in.

Performance Prowess
The Mahindra XUV.e9 will offer both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) options, leveraging the INGLO platform for significant optimizations in performance and efficiency. Battery capacity, ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh based on the variant, is expected to provide an impressive range of around 500 km. A teaser video shared by Mahindra hints at a top speed of 200 km/h in a track environment, underlining the XUV.e9's performance capabilities. The launch of this captivating electric coupe is slated for 2025.
