The electric vehicle (EV) segment is set to witness a new wave of innovation as Mahindra gears up to introduce Pro variants of its popular XUV400 model. Packed with exciting features, these variants are expected to elevate the driving experience for EV enthusiasts. The move follows the recent update of the XUV400, aligning with Mahindra's commitment to staying at the forefront of electric mobility.
Competition in the Electric Arena
Upon launch, the Mahindra XUV400 Pro variants will pose stiff competition to existing players in the electric SUV market, such as the Tata Nexon EV LR, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Kona Electric. With a focus on enhanced features and performance, Mahindra aims to solidify its position in the rapidly growing EV landscape.

Mahindra XUV400 Pro Variants Unveiled
Mahindra's internal presentation has revealed the impending arrival of EC Pro and EL Pro variants, building on the EC and EL trim levels currently available. These Pro variants are expected to either complement or replace their existing counterparts, providing consumers with a more comprehensive range of choices.
Feature
One of the notable additions to the Pro variants is the introduction of rear AC vents, addressing a long-standing customer demand. In addition, the EL Pro variant boasts a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The instrument cluster has also undergone a transformation, now featuring a fully digital 10.25-inch screen.
Interior Upgrades
Dual-zone climate control, a feature previously exclusive to the XUV300, makes its way to the XUV400 starting from the EC Pro variant. The top-spec EL Pro variant receives a redesigned dashboard and steering wheel, showcasing Mahindra's commitment to providing a premium driving experience.
New Design Elements
While the exact body style remains undisclosed, speculation surrounds whether the updates will be introduced with the current design or the facelifted version spotted during XUV300 testing. Noteworthy changes include a distinct front grille, copper Twin Peaks logo, copper roof, and an extended rear end with design cues borrowed from the SsangYong Tivoli.
Color Options
Potential buyers can anticipate a variety of dual-tone color options, complementing the existing palette of Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, and Infinity Blue. The addition of a dual-tone roof option in Satin Copper finish adds a touch of sophistication.

Performance and Charging
Under the hood, the Mahindra XUV400 Pro variants boast a potent electric motor generating 148 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. The EC Pro variant is equipped with a 34 kWh battery pack, while the EL Pro variant features a larger 39.5 kWh battery. Driving enthusiasts can choose from three modes – Fun, Fast, and Fearless – ensuring a tailored driving experience.
Range and Charging Times
Real-world range varies between 250 km and 290 km, depending on the battery pack. Charging is expedited with a DC fast charger, achieving 0-80 percent in just 50 minutes. Alternatively, the optional 7.2 kW/32A outlet facilitates a full charge in 6 hours 30 minutes, with a domestic socket requiring 13 hours for a complete recharge.
