Video Release Sparks Speculation on Bharat NCAP Testing

Maruti Suzuki, the renowned Indian automaker, has stirred excitement among the car enthusiasts by releasing a video showcasing a crash test being conducted on its recently launched Fronx SUV. The vehicle, unveiled at Auto Expo 2023, has garnered attention for its innovative design and feature-packed offerings. The video, shared on Maruti Suzuki's social media platforms, has ignited speculation regarding the possibility of the Fronx SUV undergoing testing for the Bharat NCAP safety rating program.

Official Silence on Testing Plans

Despite the intriguing video, Maruti Suzuki has remained silent regarding the official plans for subjecting the Fronx to Bharat NCAP crash testing. The automaker has not issued any official statements regarding the testing process, leaving the enthusiasts eager for updates on the SUV's safety performance.

Internal Crash Tests Revealed

While the video showcases the Fronx undergoing crash tests, it is crucial to note that these tests were conducted internally by Maruti Suzuki. No official Bharat NCAP logos were visible on the test vehicle, suggesting that the automaker is still in the process of determining whether to submit the Fronx for the standardized safety assessment. Additionally, the video reveals the use of two different sets of wheels during the crash tests, raising questions about the testing parameters.

The release of the crash test video coincides with the recent announcement of the first set of Bharat NCAP crash test results, where Tata Harrier and Tata Safari SUVs achieved impressive five-star ratings. The timing has led to speculation that Maruti Suzuki may be gearing up to share the safety ratings of the Fronx in the coming weeks.

Fronx SUV Overview

Launched earlier this year, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV is a crossover model based on the popular Baleno premium hatchback. Positioned within Maruti Suzuki's premium retail network Nexa, the Fronx boasts a distinctive coupe-SUV design and a feature-packed appearance.

Safety Features of the Fronx

On the safety front, the Fronx comes equipped with a range of features across its variants. Standard safety offerings include dual airbags, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), ESP (Electronic stability control), hill-hold assist, rear parking sensors, seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters, seatbelt reminder alert, and ISOFIX (International Standard Organisation Fix ) child seat anchorage points. Selected variant further enhances the safety with a 360-degree camera, side and curtain airbags, a reverse parking camera, and an auto-dimming IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror).

CarBike360 Says

As anticipation builds around the potential Bharat NCAP testing for the Fronx SUV, Maruti Suzuki enthusiasts & buyers are eagerly awaiting for the official updates on the vehicle's safety performance.
