Quickstop Service Details
Quickstop facilities are equipped with essential tools for routine maintenance and minor repairs. Customers can access these services at locations they visit regularly. Office workers can drop off their vehicles at these sites and collect them after work, removing the need to visit traditional service centers. Fleet operators also benefit, as the format helps reduce vehicle downtime and improves operational efficiency.
In the first phase, Maruti Suzuki has set up 10 Quickstop facilities across 8 cities. The cities include Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bagdogra, Calicut, and Surat. Maruti Suzuki’s dealer partners operate these facilities, while corporate entities or fleet operators provide the space. This collaborative approach allows for faster expansion and lower infrastructure costs compared to traditional workshops.
Eco-Friendly Practices and Industry Trends
Quickstop units use eco-friendly practices such as waterless car washing and battery-powered equipment. These measures help reduce resource consumption and environmental impact. The initiative reflects a wider trend in the automotive sector toward flexible, on-demand service formats, especially in urban areas with high population density.
Maruti Suzuki aims to expand its service network beyond conventional workshops. The company wants to bring servicing closer to customers and adapt to changing urban lifestyles. Time-saving solutions and convenience are becoming more important for vehicle owners.
Leadership Perspective
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, stated that busier workdays and limited personal time have increased the need for convenient vehicle servicing. He explained that Quickstop brings service facilities to places customers already visit, such as offices and fleet hubs. The compact, container-based units are easy to install and require little time and space for setup.
Takeuchi added that office-goers can drop off vehicles at Quickstop facilities and pick them up after work. For fleet operators, reducing downtime is essential because it directly affects earnings. Quickstop helps increase vehicle availability by minimizing downtime. The goal is to integrate vehicle servicing into customers’ routines, so they do not need to make extra trips for maintenance.
