Maruti Suzuki celebrates 10 years of NEXA with a bold safety upgrade—the NEXA and ARENA Safety Shields. With ESP, six airbags, and cutting-edge tech standard across models.

Maruti Suzuki takes up the safety game to an all-new level, setting new benchmarks for Indian roads.

The Indian automotive market is captivated by the safety credentials of the moving wheels. It is one of the most important criteria that consumers ask about before buying a vehicle. Aiming to build a car with good safety features is essential to survive any incidents, not only on the roads but also from challenging weather. In consideration of this, Maruti Suzuki has taken a giant leap by introducing its NEXA and ARENA safety shields.

Maruti Suzuki has taken a giant leap by introducing its NEXA and ARENA Safety Shields, marking the 10th anniversary of its premium NEXA brand with a focus on protecting lives. This safety initiative takes the safety game to an all-new level, setting a new benchmark for Indian roads.

From the Executive Officer’s Desk

Speaking at the launch, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales), highlighted the company’s commitment to going beyond regulatory requirements. As per the reports, he told the media, “Safety has always been a strategic priority, noting that Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is now standard across all models, while six airbags are offered as standard in 14 models—from entry-level hatchbacks to premium SUVs.”

He also added, “The company’s dedication is underscored by its state-of-the-art research and development center in Rohtak, backed by an investment of Rs 3800 crores, where more than 50 crash tests are conducted for every model before the actual launch.”
This milestone also includes the all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire becoming India’s first sedan to get a 5-star BNCAP safety rating.

Safety is the main priority

Maruti Suzuki's safety initiatives extended road safety through numerous channels. This includes education, enforcement, and emergency care. The NEXA Safety Shield boasts features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with Hill Hold Assist, reverse parking assist, ISOFIX mounts, and enhanced crash protection. The ARENA Safety Shield mirrors these protections, ensuring safety is not just a premium feature but an accessible standard.

A legacy of pioneering technology for India

Maruti Suzuki is still evolving as a strong contender in terms of safety features. This 10th anniversary of NEXA resonates with a journey that is not just a meeting but also anticipating evolving with the peculiar time. Under the safety shields, the car now comes with major safety updates. With innovations like the Level 2 ADAS in the eVITARA, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and electronic parking brakes. This signifies the brand’s commitment to safety and customer-oriented services.
