Maruti Suzuki Unveils ARAI-Certified Mileage of New Jimny

Prior to the official debut of the Maruti Suzuki 5-Door Jimny, the company unveiled the ARAI-certified mileage of this SUV. The all-new Jimny now features an average mileage of 16.39 kmpl for the automatic transmission (AT) version. In comparison, the manual transmission (MT) version offers 16.94 kmpl of fuel mileage.

When the mileage is compared with Suzuki Breeza, Jimny’s fuel efficiency falls below 3.2 kmpl, offering 19.8 kmpl for AT and 20.15 kmpl for the MT variant.

5-Door Maruti Suzuki Jimny Powertrain

The 1.5-liter, normally aspirated K15B petrol engine will power up the new Suzuki Jimny. It will be capable of churning out 103 bhp of output and 134 Nm of peak torque. The SUV will be available in 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. The 5-door Jimny will also pack an AllGrip Pro 4x4 system as standard for enhanced handling on off-road drives.

New Jimny Safety & Additional Features

Maruti Suzuki has already made record bookings of 25,000 units. This upcoming SUV will be introduced in two trims: Zeta and Alpha. Further, the carmaker will offer a 9-inch touchscreen, Arkamys sound system, and SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system. Moreover, the new Jimny will pack ESP with a hill-hold assist, rearview camera, ABS with EBD, and hill-descent control as standard safety features.

Maruti has also provided the following:- A ladder frame chassis,- 4WD functionality with low-range transfer gear (4L mode),- A 3-link rigid axle suspension, and- Bigger body angles.

Suzuki Jimny Price & Top Competitors

The all-new 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be officially launched in June 2023. The carmaker has planned to offer it in two variants (Zeta and Alpha) with the expected ex-showroom price from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.99 lakh. According to sources, the SUV will compete with 4WD SUVs like Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
