The new-generation Mercedes-Benz AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ has been revealed as an all-electric model, replacing its combustion-powered predecessor. This latest AMG CLA is available in both sedan and Shooting Brake body styles. It is based on the Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric, which debuted in 2025.
Key Highlights
- The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ debuts as an all-electric sedan and shooting brake.
- Equipped with a 94 kWh battery and three electric motors producing 680 HP and 1,759 Nm torque.
- The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 3 seconds with a WLTP range of 670 km.
- Supports 330 kW DC fast charging for a 10-80 per cent charge in 22 minutes.
- Features AMGFORCE S+ mode, aggressive styling, and a four-seat interior layout.
Design and Interior

The Mercedes AMG CLA 45 features a more aggressive exterior design. It includes a bespoke grille with 10 slats, which can be illuminated as an option, redesigned bumpers with larger air ducts, AMG-specific badging, wider fenders, side skirts, and a large rear diffuser. Standard wheels are 19-inch alloys, with 20-inch wheels available as an option
The car also gets larger brakes. The sedan has an active rear spoiler, while the Shooting Brake uses a roof-mounted spoiler.

Inside, the AMG CLA 45 has bucket seats in the front and an AMG-specific steering wheel with drive mode selectors. The cabin uses all-black upholstery with contrasting accents.
The dashboard features the ‘Hyperscreen’ triple-display setup, including a digital instrument cluster with a virtual tachometer and gear indicator, both integrated with the AMGFORCE S+ mode. Unlike the standard CLA, the AMG version has two individual rear seats, resulting in a four-seat layout.
Features and Technology
The AMG CLA 45 comes with seven drive modes and adaptive sports suspension. It also features the AMGFORCE S+ driving mode, which simulates the sound of the brand’s ‘M139’ 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine. This mode adds artificial gear shifts, power interruptions, and seat haptics to enhance the driving experience.
The sedan offers a WLTP-tested range of 670 km, while the Shooting Brake provides 640 km. The car supports up to 330 kW DC fast charging. This allows a 10-80 per cent charge in 22 minutes and adds 270 km of range in just 10 minutes.
Electric Powertrain and Performance

The Mercedes-Benz AMG CLA 45 uses a 94 kWh LFP battery paired with three electric motors. One motor is mounted on the front axle, while two are positioned at the rear. These motors use axial-flux technology, first seen in the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. Axial-flux motors are smaller and lighter than traditional radial-flux units, and they deliver higher power density.
The combined peak output is 680 HP, with a continuous output of 612 HP. Torque reaches 1,759 Nm, which is over three times higher than the previous AMG CLA's 500 Nm. The front motor can disconnect during steady driving, allowing the car to run as a rear-wheel-drive vehicle for improved efficiency. The two rear motors can operate independently, enabling torque vectoring and a dedicated Drift Mode.
Despite weighing just under 2.3 tonnes, the sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 3 seconds. The Shooting Brake achieves the same in 3.2 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 kph, but this increases to 270 kph with the optional AMG Dynamic Plus Package
