Mercedes-Benz India has removed the EQA, EQB, and A-Class Limousine from its official website. This action confirms that these models are discontinued in the Indian market. The change marks a significant shift in the brand’s entry-level offerings.
Key Highlights
- Mercedes-Benz India has discontinued the EQA, EQB, and A-Class Limousine models
- GLA SUV is now the most affordable Mercedes-Benz model in India at Rs 51.80 lakh ex-showroom
- The new CLA electric vehicle will launch on 24 April starting around Rs 55 lakh ex-showroom
Entry-Level Portfolio Changes
Previously, Mercedes-Benz offered the A-Class Limousine and GLA SUV as its most affordable internal combustion engine (ICE) models. In the electric segment, the EQA was available from Rs. 67.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The EQB, a three-row electric SUV, was priced higher and provided more practicality for families.
With the removal of these models, the GLA SUV now becomes the entry-level Mercedes-Benz in India. The GLA is priced at Rs. 51.80 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available with both petrol and diesel engine options.
Upcoming Launches and Future Lineup
Mercedes-Benz plans to introduce the new CLA as its next entry-level model. The CLA will launch on 24 April and will return to India as a pure electric vehicle. It will be offered in both standard and long-range versions. The expected starting price for the new CLA is around Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom).
At the premium end, Mercedes-Benz will continue to focus on its high-end electric vehicle lineup. These models are positioned above the Rs. 1 crore price point. The company’s strategy now emphasizes premiumisation and electrification, with fewer entry-level models and a focus on higher-margin products.
