JSW MG Motor India has raised the price of the MG M9 electric MPV to Rs. 75.90 lakh, ex-showroom. This marks a Rs. 5 lakh increase as part of the company’s planned price revision for April 2026. The MG M9 is the first model from the brand to receive this hike. The vehicle is sold through the Select retail network.
Key Highlights
- MG M9 electric MPV price increased to Rs 75.90 lakh ex showroom
- MG M9 offers a 90kWh battery and 548km claimed range
- Kia Carnival priced over Rs 16 lakh lower than MG M9
- Toyota Vellfire remains the most expensive at Rs 1.19 crore ex showroom
- MG M9 features include seven seats twin sunroofs and seven airbags
MG M9 Pricing and Market Position
The MG M9 now sits well below the Toyota Vellfire, which is priced at Rs. 1.19 crore, ex-showroom. The Vellfire features a strong hybrid powertrain and targets the ultra-premium segment. In contrast, the Kia Carnival offers a more accessible option. After its own price revision in October 2025, the Carnival is priced at Rs. 59.42 lakh, ex-showroom. This makes the Carnival over Rs. 16 lakh less expensive than the MG M9, despite both models offering premium interiors and a comprehensive feature list.
The MG M9 distinguishes itself with a fully electric powertrain, while the Carnival uses a diesel engine. Buyers seeking long-distance usability and established refuelling infrastructure may prefer the Carnival. The luxury MPV segment in India now covers a wide price range, with the Carnival at the lower end and the Vellfire at the top. The MG M9 offers an electric alternative positioned between these two models, focusing on comfort and advanced technology.
MG M9 Features and Specifications
The MG M9 comes in a seven-seat configuration. It is powered by a 90kWh battery pack and a front-mounted electric motor. The motor produces 241bhp and 350Nm of torque. MG claims a driving range of 548km on a single charge for the M9.
Key features include twin sunroofs, powered second-row seats with ventilation and massage functions, a digital IRVM, seven airbags, and a 13-speaker JBL sound system. These features aim to enhance passenger comfort and safety.
Sales and Segment Overview
MG does not release detailed sales figures for its Select range. However, industry data shows that 224 and 67 units were retailed in this segment in the previous month. The MG M9 continues to compete in a segment that spans a broad price band and offers buyers a choice between electric, diesel, and hybrid powertrains.
