Mini India is planning to expand its portfolio in India. The British brand has recently released a new teaser of its upcoming model. In the new teaser, the brand hints at the upcoming launch of the sportiest Countryman coming to the Indian market. The much-anticipated car is scheduled for a launch in India on October 14, 2025. This new teaser follows after the launch of the Countryman Electric JCW Pack, which was released in June, and now, with only the ICE version of the car, Mini is making its way to the Indian podium.
Mini promises a spectacular blend of dynamic design and motorsport-inspired engineering, setting a fresh benchmark in compact luxury performance SUVs. For the brand, the new Countryman JCW will be the sole internal combustion engine (ICE) Countryman on sale, reinforcing Mini’s commitment to delivering petrol-powered thrills even as it explores electrified frontiers.
The Sporty Design with JCW Suffix
The upcoming Mini Countryman JCW variant will have a few subtle design changes from its predecessor. For the 2025 iteration, the car might offer a sporty appeal with an all-new, aggressive body kit compared to the standard Countryman. The front fascia of the car comes with a black-themed finished grill incorporated with a chequered flag pattern.
Moreover, the front bumper houses larger air intakes with striking red accents that reflect its motorsport DNA. Looking at the car from the side, we can see red brake calipers arched with sporty-looking alloy and finished with the John Cooper Works logo on the car's C-pillar. At the rear, the design is distinguished with a dual-tone color treatment. Featuring red-highlighted bumper elements, a reinforced spoiler, and quad exhaust tips.
Mini Countryman JCW: Powertrain Performance

Under the hood, the car will be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This engine is robust and is capable of producing 300 HP of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The brand stated that the powertrain unit will be paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and have all-wheel drive as a drivetrain option for Indian customers.
This engine is powerful enough to move a car from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds, underlining the model’s track-inspired credentials and making it a formidable choice in its class.
Premium interiors
While stepping inside the cabin, the interior of the car looks similar to the standard Countryman. Getting behind the wheel, you might see a regular dashboard, but with the addition of red accents all over the cockpit. The Countryman JCW has abundant red accents, ambient lighting, red-contrast stitching upholstery, and race-inspired pedals. The central infotainment system is also upgraded with JCW-specific graphics.
Expected Pricing
Mini, as a brand, had limited the sales of the JCW configuration setup for the Countryman Electric to only 20 units. This will be the same for the upcoming petrol-powered JCW Countryman in India. If the car is released in India, then it might be priced at Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
Conclusion
The upcoming launch of the Mini Countryman JCW signifies the brand’s focus on sporty, driver-centric offerings. It will be the only ICE Countryman to be released for the Indian market. It is not merely a new addition but a statement of performance, style, and exclusivity, perfectly aligning with the evolving passions of Indian luxury car buyers.
