Introduction
Countryman is presently the only a 5 door model of MINI in India. It is basically a hatchback, or an extended version of the Cooper S 3 door hatchback.
Exterior & Design
In terms of exterior design, the Countryman gets large signature LED headlamps, large LED fog lamps placed on the edges of the lower air dam, vertical air curtains placed on the edges of the front bumper and the union jack design rear taillamps. Also, the rear bumper gets seamlessly integrated dual exhaust and vertical reflectors on the edges.
On the side, the Countryman continues to offer the signature type door mounted cum oval shaped ORVMs and gets side scuttles with a unique hexagonal design & integrated LED turn indicators. The 19 inch turnstile spoke dual tone alloys also add to the premium appeal of the hatch.
Interior & Features
Inside the cabin, the Countryman gets most of the signature design elements of the MINI brand. Some of these design elements include circular infotainment screen assembly with LED ambient lights around the circumference of the panel, pill shaped fully digital instrument cluster, circular inside door handles, etc.
On the equipment front, it comes loaded with an 8.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and wireless apple car play connectivity, a 5 inch fully digital instrument cluster display, 12 colour ambient lighting, electric parking brake with auto hold, dual zone climate control AC, lumbar support in front seats, powered tailgate, panoramic glass roof, electric adjust front seats, driver seat with memory function, Harman Kardon audio setup, wireless charging, etc.
For convenience, its rear seats can be folded in 40:20:40 ratio, making it extremely flexible.
Engine & Transmission
MINI Countryman is available with just a single engine and gearbox combination, exactly same as the Cooper S 3 door hatchback. Its the same 2 litre 4 cylinder twin power turbo petrol engine producing 178 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. For transmission duty, it comes mated to a 7 speed dual clutch steptronic sport transmission. This engine gearbox combination is capable of propelling the hatch from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds.
Dimensions
Being a five door model from MINI, the Countryman stands longer in length and wheelbase than other MINI offerings like the Cooper S and Cooper SE. It gets a wheelbase of 2670 mm, length of 4297 mm, width of 1822 mm and height of 1557 mm.

Customers of the MINI Countryman can choose from 7 different paint shades. These include British Racing Green with Black Roof, Chilli Red with Black Roof, Island Blue with Black Roof, Melting Silver with Black Roof, Nanuq White with Black Roof, Rooftop Grey with Black Roof and Sage Green with Black Roof.
