Design and Features

The standard Countryman shares several design elements with the JCW and electric models. These include similar headlight shapes, tail lamp designs, and wheel styles. Inside, the car features a centrally mounted screen, a three-spoke Mini steering wheel, and a dashboard made from recycled materials. These features create a familiar environment for those acquainted with other Countryman variants.
The Countryman is the largest vehicle in Mini's portfolio. It measures 4.4 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 2.6 meters, providing ample space for passengers and luggage.
Engine Options and Variants
The Indian market will receive the Countryman in two variants: Classic and S All4. The Classic variant comes with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 170bhp. The S All4 variant features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 200bhp. Both variants use a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The S All4 also includes all-wheel drive as standard.
Pricing and Assembly
Mini is expected to price the new Countryman between Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 45 lakh. The company plans to assemble the vehicle locally at the BMW facility near Chennai. This pricing places the Countryman among larger SUVs in the Indian market. However, its unique design and features set it apart from direct competitors.
