Jeep has recently launched a new variant of its popular SUV, Avenger in the international market. The new entrant is the Avenger 4xe which comes equipped with a petrol unit combined with a dual electric motor setup and AWD configuration. Before the new hybrid variant was introduced, the Avenger SUV was only available either with an all-electric powertrain or with an internal combustion engine. Automaker has also announced that the hybrid SUV that the order window will be opened by Quarter 4 of 2024. The hybrid SUV will be made available in two variants- Overland and Upland.
The Jeep Avenger comes equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with a dual motor setup. This powerhouse generates a maximum power of 135 bhp and each electric motors churns out 28 bhp. The petrol unit delivers power to the front wheels, aided with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the rear wheels get power from the electric motors which can generate 1900 Nm of torque in a combined manner. The Avenger SUV hybrid can generate the highest power output, even more than the e-Hybrid FWD variant.
The new Jeep Avenger 4xe hybrid can go up to 194 kmph and sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 9.5 seconds. The 48V hybrid setup improves the fuel efficiency and power delivery. Being an off-road-centric vehicle, the SUV gets Jeep’s Select Terrain- Auto, Snow, Sand, sport and Mud modes. The SUV comes with 35-degree departure angles, 21-degree breakover and 22-degree approach angles. Jeep has utilized the all-new multi-link suspension on the new Jeep Avenger hybrid which has significantly increased the ground clearance and offroading capabilities. It is notable that now Jeep Avenger 4xe come with a water wading capacity of 400 mm.
