Nissan Is Ready To Unveil Its New Compact MPV On December 18
Nissan's upcoming compact MPV debuts in India on Dec 18, 2025, offering modular seating, modern tech, and an efficient powertrain to challenge Triber in the budget segment. Launch slated for early 2026.

Nissan Motor India gears up for a major reveal with its all-new sub-4-meter compact MPV debuting on December 18, 2025, marking a bold entry into the competitive people-mover segment. Developed in partnership with Renault and sharing underpinnings with the popular Triber, this 7-seater promises fresh design cues and enhanced features while targeting budget-conscious families.
Spied prototypes hint at a silhouette echoing the Triber but elevated with modern aesthetics to refresh Nissan's evolving brand identity. This unveiling precedes a full launch in early 2026, positioning Nissan to challenge Maruti Ertiga rivals in India's high-demand MPV market. Let’s check out what this upcoming MPV will have to offer for the Indian customers.
New Exterior Design

As the car was spied testing before under heavy camouflage, we can expect a similar design to that of the Renault Triber with subtle changes. The front fascia sports a bold hexagonal grille, redesigned headlamps, and a sculpted bumper for an aggressive stance, complemented by roof rails, new alloy wheels, a revamped rear bumper, and updated taillamps.
These elements distinguish it from the Triber while maintaining a compact footprint under 4 meters, ideal for urban agility and parking ease. Spy shots confirm a family-friendly profile with practical additions like roof rails for extra luggage. The upcoming model will also feature functional roof rails and newly designed alloy wheels.
Premium Interiors
The brand has not revealed any further details with regard to the interiors of the car. Expect a modular cabin supporting 5-, 6-, and 7-seat layouts, with sliding and reclining second-row seats for flexible space. The brand might provide new upgrades, including new dashboard materials, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and cooled central storage. Rear AC vents and push-button start enhance comfort for long drives.
Nissan New MPV: Engine & Performance

Under the hood, the new Nissan MPV will be powered by a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 72 HP of power and 96 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or AMT for efficient city runs. Nissan aims to refine tuning for better drivability, ensuring frugal mileage suits daily family use. No hybrid or CNG options have been confirmed yet, keeping it simple and cost-effective.
Safety Features
The standard kit features dual airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, ESC, and hill-hold assist, with top trims potentially adding six airbags. Highway safety is further enhanced by other features like cruise control and rain-sensing wipers. This configuration prioritizes affordability while competing with segment norms.
