Raptee HV, an electric motorcycle manufacturer based in Chennai, opened its first retail outlet outside its home city in Bengaluru on Friday. H. D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, inaugurated the new experience centre. This marks Bengaluru as Raptee HV's second operational market after Chennai, where deliveries of the T30 motorcycle began in March 2024.
Key Highlights
- Raptee HV opens its first showroom outside Chennai in Bengaluru.
- T30 motorcycle features 240V architecture and CCS2 charging compatibility.
- The company plans to expand to seven more cities by FY27.
- T30 offers a 150 km range and charges fully in 20 minutes at public fast chargers.
Showroom Launch and Expansion Plans
The Bengaluru showroom offers test rides, deliveries, and after-sales support for customers. Raptee.HV selected Bengaluru for its strong charging infrastructure and large motorcycling community. Dinesh Arjun, co-founder and CEO, stated that the company will bring the same engineering standards and service ecosystem from Chennai to Bengaluru.
At the launch, Arjun announced plans to enter seven additional cities by the end of the financial year 2027. The company will expand its retail and service presence through a phased rollout. Raptee.HV aims to reach informed electric vehicle riders who value technology and performance.
T30 Motorcycle Features and Technology
The Raptee HV T30 motorcycle stands out for its 240V high-voltage architecture, which is adapted from electric cars. Most electric scooters in India use low-voltage systems, but Raptee HV's approach delivers several advantages. According to Arjun, these include faster acceleration than petrol motorcycles, higher efficiency, and improved reliability.
The T30's battery, motor, and controller are designed for a 12-year lifespan. The motorcycle uses the Combined Charging System Type 2 (CCS2) connector, which is standard in electric cars. This allows T30 riders to access over 30,000 public charging points across India. Most two-wheelers lack a common charging standard and are limited to home charging, but the T30 can use chargers operated by carmakers and fuel retailers.
Raptee HV claims the T30 can achieve a full charge in 20 minutes at a public fast charger. The T30 is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh, ex-showroom. The company reports a real-world range of 150 km and acceleration from 0 to 60 km/h in under 3.5 seconds. The motorcycle comes with an eight-year or 80,000 km battery warranty, a three-year vehicle warranty, and roadside assistance.
