With the handcrafted, limited-edition Heritage Spirit Scrambler, Renault has entered the electric two-wheeler industry. The Heritage Spirit Scrambler, which debuted at the 2024 Paris Motor Show alongside the Renault 4 E-Tech, is distinguished by its off-road-focused design, high-quality components, and competitive performance. Now let's explore its specifics.
Showcased at the 2024 Paris Motor Show
Renault unveiled many electric vehicles at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, demonstrating their dedication to electric mobility. The Renault 4 E-Tech electric car stole the show, but the business also unveiled other automobiles, such as the Heritage Spirit Scrambler, an electric motorcycle. This electric scrambler, which costs EUR 23,450 (about Rs 21.2 lakh), is made by Ateliers Heritage Bikes, a French startup with headquarters in Poisy, close to Annecy.
Pricing and Versions
There are two variations of the Heritage Spirit Scrambler:
This version is intended for those 16 years of age and up, with a price tag of EUR 23,450 (about Rs 21.2 lakh). With a top speed of 45 km/h, it can be driven legally in Europe using an AM driving license. It has a top speed of 99 km/h and costs EUR 24,950. To operate it, riders will need to have an A1 license or a B196 automobile driving license extension. Pre-orders are accepted for both of the handmade variants, and delivery is scheduled to start in the spring of 2025. Due to its restricted production, the high price points reflect its uniqueness and possible collector's value.
Design and Specifications
The Heritage Spirit Scrambler has an exquisitely detailed neo-retro scrambler design:
Highlights include a wide handlebar with bar-end mirrors, a ribbed leather seat, a compact LED headlight with integrated DRLs, and a conventional gasoline tank-like part that conceals the battery pack. Off-road aficionados will love the overall sleek yet tough appearance. The electric motor is located in the back wheel hub and is powered by a 4.8 kWh battery. With a single charge, it can travel 110 kilometres with a peak power output of 10 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. The motorcycle's modest weight, at just 137 kg at the curb, makes it easier to manoeuvre in off-road situations.
Premium Components
High-end parts are fitted into the Heritage Spirit Scrambler to improve its off-road capabilities:
- Suspension: EMC's monoshock at the back and WP upside-down (USD) telescopic forks up front offer superior handling on uneven terrain.
- Braking System: With a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc, Brembo brakes provide exact stopping force.
- Tyres: Known for their off-road ability, Heidenau knobby tires are mounted on the 17-inch wire-spoke wheels.
Conclusion
The Renault Heritage Spirit Scrambler blends traditional scrambler styling with contemporary electric technology. Thanks to its quality materials, limited production run, and off-road-focused specs, this motorbike is sure to appeal to both fans and collectors. Even though it's expensive, the quality and exclusivity can make the purchase worthwhile.
