Royal Enfield is making waves once again with the sighting of test mules of its upcoming motorcycles: the Himalayan, Interceptor, and Continental GT. As per the rumors, these models will feature a newly developed 750cc engine. Known for its strong value-for-money proposition, Royal Enfield’s upcoming 750cc motorcycles are set to build upon the success of its 650cc twins — the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 — both of which have praise for their performance, pricing, and overall appeal.

When Royal Enfield first launched the 650cc twins, they transformed the mid-capacity segment with their twin-cylinder engines, providing a level of refinement that was previously unseen in the brand's history. Their smooth and vibration-free riding experience quickly made them stand out, and even today, they remain one of the best in their class. With a more powerful 750cc engine in the pipeline, Royal Enfield is ready to raise the stakes once more.

The All-New 750cc Engine

Royal Enfield’s new 750cc engine is expected to offer a fresh take on its already successful 650cc powertrain. While the details remain under wraps, it is highly anticipated that the 750cc engine will follow the same parallel-twin layout seen in the 650cc models. This configuration is not only cost-effective but also delivers smooth performance with minimal vibration, which has become one of Royal Enfield's signature characteristics.

It is likely that the new engine will build on the current 650cc mill, possibly with a larger bore and stroke to increase power and torque. A bigger throttle body may also be in the works, further enhancing engine responsiveness. Despite the increase in engine size, Royal Enfield will likely maintain the relaxed, easy-going nature of its bikes, delivering plenty of low-end torque for effortless cruising. The company’s focus on rider comfort and accessibility will be evident in this new engine, providing a riding experience that appeals to both long-distance travelers and local commuters alike.

Technological Advancements

Alongside the engine upgrade, Royal Enfield is expected to implement more modern features into its upcoming 750cc models. The 650cc twins already introduced the brand to a more contemporary riding experience, and the 750cc lineup will likely push this further with technologies like ride-by-wire throttle. This feature would offer smoother throttle control, making for more controlled power delivery and improving overall rideability, particularly during city traffic or on twisty roads.

With more power on tap, Royal Enfield is also set to enhance the safety features of its new motorcycles. The test mules of the Himalayan 750, Interceptor 750, and Continental GT 750 have been spotted with dual disc brakes at the front, a clear indication that the company is taking stopping power seriously. This upgrade should provide better braking performance, matching the increased power output of the new engine, and further enhancing the safety and confidence of riders.

Global Competitiveness and Price Expectations

One of the key factors that have always worked in Royal Enfield’s favor is its competitive pricing, and the new 750cc lineup is expected to follow this trend. Even with the enhanced performance and features, Royal Enfield is likely to keep the prices accessible, ensuring they continue to offer a strong value-for-money proposition. By competing directly with premium brands in the global market, Royal Enfield aims to solidify its presence in the mid-capacity segment.

Given the company's careful approach to R&D, we can expect the launch of the new 750cc motorcycles by late 2025 or possibly even 2026. This timeline will allow Royal Enfield to perfect its offerings, ensuring that the bikes are ready to compete on the global stage while maintaining the brand’s core identity.

With the introduction of the 750cc engine, the iconic Himalayan, Interceptor, and Continental GT will offer an exciting new chapter in the company's legacy, appealing to a broader range of motorcycle community worldwide.
