Suzuki Hayabusa achieved its highest-ever sales in India during FY2026 with 543 units sold. This marked a 6 percent increase over FY2025, when 511 units were sold. The growth came despite the GST 2.0 revision, which raised prices for two-wheelers above 350cc, including the Hayabusa.
Key Highlights

- Hayabusa held 49 percent share of the 1000-1600cc segment in FY2026
- GST 2.0 raised Hayabusa price by Rs 1.16 lakh impacting sales
- Kawasaki sales rose 361 percent to 281 units in FY2026
- Harley-Davidson sold 120 units in the 1000-1600cc segment
Hayabusa Leads 1000-1600cc Segment
The Suzuki Hayabusa accounted for 49 percent of sales in the 1000-1600cc motorcycle segment in FY2026. This segment reached a new fiscal year high of 1,105 units, up 22 percent from 905 units in FY2025 and surpassing the previous record of 939 units in FY2022. Suzuki's flagship model has remained the best-selling motorcycle in this category for four consecutive years.
In the first half of FY2026, Suzuki sold 324 units of the Hayabusa. However, sales in the second half dropped 32 percent to 219 units. The decline followed a price increase caused by GST 2.0, which raised the Hayabusa's price by Rs 1.16 lakh to Rs 18.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) from Rs 16.90 lakh.
Market Share and Competitors
The Hayabusa's share in the 1000-1600cc segment fell to 49 percent in FY2026 from 57 percent in FY2025. The drop in market share is attributed to the price hike after the GST 2.0 revision. Since Suzuki Motorcycle India began selling the Hayabusa, first as an import and then as a locally assembled model from its Gurugram plant, cumulative sales have reached 2,943 units, according to SIAM wholesales data.
Kawasaki posted significant gains in FY2026, selling 281 units of the Z1100, Ninja 1100SX, and Versys 1100. This represented a 361 percent increase from 61 units in the previous year. Kawasaki overtook Triumph, which was the second-best seller in FY2025. Triumph's sales dropped 24 percent year-on-year to 159 units in FY2026. However, combined sales of five Triumph models—the Speed Twin 1200, Bonneville T120, Scrambler 1200 X, Bobber, and Speedmaster—reached 208 units, up 28 percent, giving Triumph a 23 percent share in FY2025.
Harley-Davidson India ranked fourth in the 1000-1600cc segment, selling 120 units of the Sportster S and Pan America 1250, one unit more than in FY2025.
