Tata Altroz was first launched in India in January 2020. Now, after about five years of a successful run in the market, the Hatchback is ready for its mid-cycle update. Tata Motors has confirmed that it will unveil an updated Altroz on May 22, 2025, hinting at major changes to the exterior and interior of this flagship Tata hatchback. While the Indian automaker has continued offering necessary updates and changes, the Altroz will receive its most comprehensive update yet.

Tata Altroz Facelift Expected Changes
The Tata Altroz facelift is expected to feature a major visual and feature upgrade, with minimal alteration to the existing silhouette of the hatchback. Indian customers can expect an upgraded front grille, headlamps and taillights, and bumper modifications. However, the cabin can be heavily upgraded, including a larger infotainment display with a new user interface, an updated instrument console, and a restructured dashboard with air-con vents. Tata can also enhance the premium feel of this hatchback by offering ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, an electric sunroof, and new seat upholstery.
Tata Altroz Faceflitt Mechanical Specifications
While the hatchback is expected to receive major exterior and interior upgrades, the Altroz will continue to be powered by existing 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine options. The Altroz is the only Tata hatchback to offer a diesel engine, specifically a 1.5-liter oil burner, which is expected to carry over to its upcoming facelift version. The automobile manufacturer can also offer twin-cylinder CNG technology, likely paired with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated (NA) petrol motor. Five-speed manual or six-speed DCT transmission options will be available in all these powertrain configurations.
Tata Altroz Rivals in India
Tata Altroz facelift is expected to see some price hikes, but will still be very competitively positioned in the hatchback segment. The Altroz facelift will rival the Hyundai i20, Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza.
