Tata Motors is all set to launch one of its most anticipated electric SUV, Harrier EV, on June 3. The Indian automobile manufacturer announced the launch date for the electric version of the Tata Harrier SUV after unveiling its production-spec model at the 2025 Auto Expo organized in January this year.

Tata Harrier EV: What We Know So Far?
The Harrier EV will have an almost identical design to its diesel Harrier facelift. It gets vertically fitted LED headlights below the blade-like DRLs, connected by a full-length light bar. It also has swollen wheel arches and a rising window line with a thick, blacked-out D-pillar for a floating roof effect. The same design element can be seen in Tata’s upcoming electric SUV, where its rear profile will house a connected light bar and bumper-mounted vertical fog lamps.
The Tata Harrier EV will also have several electric vehicle-specific elements, possibly borrowing some elements from the Tata Curvv EV. It may feature a sealed-off upper grille anda chrome-finish air dam front bumper. There will be EV badging on the front door and HARRIER.EV lettering on the tailgate to make the model look different from its ICE counterparts.
Inside the cabin, Tata has teased to provide several attractive features and tech configurations. However, most features will be directly borrowed from the Tata Harrier ICE model, including a two-tone dashboard and touch-based HVAC control. The teaser also shares that the Tata EV would have a floating touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and four-spoke steering wheel. To enrich the passenger experience on the drive, Tata will offer an electronic parking brake activator and panoramic sunroof. The Harrier EV is also expected to receive new terrain modes with connected car features and over-the-air updates.
The upcoming Harrier EV is built on the same Omega base as found in Harrier ICE, but the platform is extensively modified to place an electric motor and battery pack by ensuring maximum efficiency and performance. With some tweaks in the chassis, a redone food-to-place battery, and an electrical and electronics framework, Tata has given it an Acti.ev (Gen2) architecture badge. Tata has followed a similar approach in its Punch ICE to launch the electric version of this best-selling model in its portfolio.
Vivek Srivastava, CCO of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, confirmed that the Harrier EV would have a more powerful rear axle-mounted motor. He also emphasized the customization options available with electric motors to improve vehicle performance. The all-electric Harrier is expected to have a dual motor setup and be capable of producing a peak torque of 500 Nm. The battery details are currently unavailable, but the Harrier EV is expected to have a larger battery pack than the Curvv EV, which comes with a 55 kWh unit. It is also confirmed that the electric version of the Harrier SUV will offer over 500 km of real-world range.
