Performance

Under the high-tensile backbone frame lies a 296 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This robust engine is capable of producing 40 HP of power and 26 Nm of peak torque. This engine is similar and is available in the Kawasaki Ninja 300. Mated with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch, ensuring refined shifting and control. The bike is equipped with a backbone steel frame, making it lightweight yet sturdy for versatile riding conditions.

Chassis, Suspension, and Tyres

The motorcycle is equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels fitted with tube-type tyres. These tyres are optimized for both on-road stability and off-road capability. Suspension duties are managed by a 41 mm telescopic front fork providing 130 mm travel and a Uni-Trak rear mono-shock with 148 mm travel. Together, such a configuration delivers compliant and comfortable suspension for long-distance touring and adventure riding.

Talking about its features, the bike offers a basic semi-digital instrument cluster offering essential rider information without flashy electronic aids such as Bluetooth connectivity or riding modes. For safety, the Versys X 300 comes with a dual-channel ABS, enhancing braking efficacy and rider confidence on diverse surfaces. Even with its simplicity, the bike is more focused on riding comfort with an upright sitting position.

Market Outlook

The bike gives strong competition against its rivals like the KTM 390 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The Versys X 300 offers a distinct advantage with its twin-cylinder engine, which is a rarity in this segment. It appeals to adventure enthusiasts seeking a reliable, affordable, and comfortable motorcycle capable of handling daily commutes.

Conclusion

The 2026 Kawasaki Versys X 300 remains a good choice in the adventure motorcycle category in India. The bike offers a thoughtful design, proven engineering, and rider-centric comfort that can successfully blend without frequent updates or feature overloads. With the addition of new dual-tone color and robust performance, Kawasaki hopes to further cement its presence in the competitive adventure tourer space.
