TVS Motor Company has once again captured the limelight in the Indian two-wheeler market. The brand has recently launched the all-new TVS Orbiter electric scooter with an introductory price of Rs. 99,900 (ex-showroom) in India. This e-scooter is an entry-level variant positioned below the tech-rich TVS iQube. This strategic addition not only broadens the brand’s electric portfolio but is also set to redefine expectations for affordable, technology-driven commuting across India.
The all-new TVS Orbiter aims to appeal to first-time EV buyers and provide a comfortable ride for daily urban riders. The Orbiter stands out as the ideal choice as TVS’s bold answer to rising fuel costs and growing demand for sustainable transport solutions. Orbiter is the third electric scooter from TVS after iQube and TVS X in the lineup. Let's look at the insights of the all-new Orbiter and see what this e-scooter has to offer for Indian customers.
The all-new TVS Orbiter follows a minimalist design language, which is designed for hassle-free city rides. The front fascia has a compact frame, and streamlined bodywork resonates with the iQube. The vehicle comes with a refined aerodynamic front panel with front and rear connected LED lights. The 845 mm long flatform seat provides a comfortable ride for both rider and pillion.
The e-scooter features rectangular-boxy LED headlamps with a front visor, along with integrated turn indicators. The Orbiter has an upright seating position and offers wide and upright handlebars, making rides effortless. At the front, the vehicle receives 14-inch front tyres for enhanced stability and ride control.
Under the trellis frame, the electric scooter is powered by a 3.1 kWh battery pack configuration that delivers an impressive range of 158 km on a single charge. Riders can expect a practical top speed of approximately 50–60 kmph, perfectly calibrated for city commutes. The TVS Orbiter will be the industry’s first electric scooter that will have cruise control with hill hold assist as standard features.
While the Orbiter streamlines the feature list to empower its accessible price point—rumored to be comfortably below Rs 1.0 lakh—it still brings the connected features such as geo-fencing, time-fencing, towing, and crash/fall alerts. The e-scooter holds many sophisticated features like Bluetooth connectivity, a USB charging port, and a colored LCD connected cluster with an incoming call display.
Other customer-oriented features are as follows:
The TVS Orbiter is set to give a close call with rivals such as the Ola S1X, the Vida VX2, and the nation’s pride, the Bajaj Chetak variants. Its budget-friendly profile and thoughtful engineering make it a compelling choice for students, professionals, and families.
The brand offers 6 distinct color options for the customers to choose from. These colors are Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martin Copper.
The all-new TVS Orbiter is launched for young urban commuters and tech-savvy riders. Seeking style under fuel efficiency. The electric scooter is ideal for those who want the vehicle to buy for the first time. Positioned between budget commuters and premium lifestyle bikes, it targets aspirational buyers who value modern design and connectivity.
