Kia is preparing to expand its business operations in India. For the 2026 season, the brand is expected to launch several SUVs for the Indian market. Based on such premises, the Kia Seltos has been spotted testing on Indian roads. This could be the next-gen models, signaling a major leap for one of Kia’s best-selling models in India. The test mule was heavily camouflaged but hints at a comprehensive overhaul in the works.
The new model promises striking design changes, advanced technology, and an expected hybrid powertrain to meet the evolving demands of the Indian market. However, the brand can debut the model on a global stage first and then bring it back to Indian roads sometime in 2026. Let’s take a look at the all-new upcoming Kia Seltos and what it has to offer the Indian automotive market.
Striking New Design Language

The next-gen Kia Seltos has been spotted testing in India. According to the latest spy shots that surfaced on the internet, the new model might follow an aggressive design language with a subtle sporty appeal. The front fascia of the car comes with a prominent grille, and slimmer and angular LED headlamps integrate with vertically stacked DRLs. Furthermore, the ADAS sensor is neatly integrated into the front bumper, signalling that the car will feature an ADAS suite like the current model.
The side profile features dual-tone black and white ORVMs and chunky wheel arch claddings, contributing to a sportier look. When we look at the car from the back, we notice sports-connected LED taillights and a redesigned tailgate. The wheelbase appears longer, with the SUV expected to grow by about 100 mm, making it one of the longest in its segment.

Premium Interiors

The brand has not revealed anything about its interior cabin features. But, we can expect that Kia might introduce its Trinity Panoramic Display, which consists of dual 12.3-inch digital screens for the instrument console and infotainment system. An integrated 5-inch touchscreen for climate control might boost the dashboard configuration. Premium materials will elevate the cabin ambiance, while features like a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats enhance comfort and convenience.
For safety, the car comes with an ADAS Level 2 inclusion along with enriched features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, 6 airbags as standard, and a 360-degree camera system.
New Kia Seltos: Powertrain

The next-gen Kia Seltos is expected to continue the same engine configuration as the current-generation model. The car will be powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 115 HP of power and 144 Nm of torque. Then comes a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine producing 116 HP and 250 Nm of torque.
The third option for customers will be a 1.5L diesel unit that is capable of producing 160 HP and 253 Nm of torque. Paired with manual, CVT, and DCT transmissions depending on the engine specification. This electrified powertrain aims to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
Launch Timeline

Reports suggest that the next-gen Kia Seltos will make its official global debut in early 2026, likely in the first quarter, with India potentially being one of the first markets to receive the SUV. Given the model's strong legacy in India, the upgraded Seltos is expected to sustain Kia's momentum and appeal to young, tech-savvy Indian buyers seeking a blend of style, efficiency, and technology.
Conclusion
The upcoming next-gen Kia Seltos model aligns perfectly with evolving consumer preferences in the SUV space by offering larger dimensions, cutting-edge styling, and smart features in early 2026. The hybrid variant addition solidifies Kia’s commitment to sustainable mobility without compromising on performance or styling attributes.
